As always on the third Monday of the month, Visual Arts Guild of Frisco is hosting a monthly membership meeting at the Gallery 8680 in Frisco TX.  Doors open at 6:30, meeting starts at 7pm July 18th.

Our VAGF Member-Artists are encouraged to bring a small-to-medium piece of art for Artist of the Month judging. The meeting is free for members, while guests are encouraged to make a $10 donation at the door.

Our guest speaker for July is attorney Andrea Perez.

Serving individuals and organizations in the areas of art law, corporate law, and intellectual property, Andrea Perez assists her clients with a broad spectrum of issues.

Combining her love and knowledge of the arts with her sharp legal acumen, Andrea enthusiastically advocates for her clients and works tirelessly to protect their interests. Discrete as she is knowledgeable, she finds creative and efficient legal solutions to a variety of matters in the art world, while ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of her exclusive clientele.

Outside of the firm, Andrea is a lecturer at Southern Methodist University, teaching International Law and the Arts as part of an international master’s degree program with universities in Montreal, Milan, Bogotá, and Beijing. She currently sits on the board of the Texas Accountants and Lawyers for Artists (TALA), serves as past Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Entertainment, Art and Sports Law Section, sits on the board of the Dallas Women’s Lawyers Association, serves as the Secretary for the Cedars Union art incubator, and contributes her mentorship skills to many young attorneys interested in practicing art law.

“Empathy and compassion guide how I practice law. No matter how big or small the deal or disagreement is, it is important to me that my clients enjoy working with me and trust my legal and business skills. I bring to my practice deep experience and knowledge of the issues surrounding the worlds of art, commerce, and entrepreneurship. This knowledge helps me negotiate and advocate favorably for my clients and develop creative solutions tailored to their unique needs.”
