Chris Thames is a native of Fort Worth, Texas. His interest in art began in early childhood, and by the age of thiry eight, he began painting. Chris got his first art show at Firehouse Gallery in Fort Worth and his art is being displayed and sold in local restaurants. He ran a Gallery with partners at Gallery 3 in the Bishop Arts District. His art is featured at Tommy’s Hamburgers on Forest Park Blvd. in Fort Worth, Texas. Martin and Company Hairdressers Camp Bowie. Wright Art Twins Gallery in Dallas.
After graduating Subiaco high school, CHris attend Tarrant County Junior College.
Throughout his career, Chris has won numerous awards and prizes in various art shows. He has also done many commissioned works both for individual collectors and institutions, including a series of paintings for a Fort Worth Community Arts Center in Fort Worth. He held an exhibit at FWCAC in May and is now preparing for upcoming show at FWCAC in near future.
I am fascinated by the color, light patterns, and variety found in acrylic paints and metallic acrylic paints. I feel blessed to have the time to look so deeply around me and hope to share that feeling with you through these paintings.
