Visual Art League of Lewisville Presents 3 Day Watercolor Workshop by Nel Dorn Byrd

This workshop will take place  August 5, 6, 7 at the MCL Grand Theater,
100  Charles Street, Lewisville, Tx.  The cost of the workshop is
$300.00 for members and $335.00 for non members.

The workshop will consist of daily demos, critiques and individual help.
She will talk about design and how to best express one’s chosen
subject matter.   Also talking about working wet into wet, beginning on
dry paper, and saving the white of the paper.  Subject matter will be architecture, landscape, and floral or still life.    Nel will have photo images to work from but students are welcome to bring their own images.

Nel Dorn Byrd, AWS, NWS, WHS

Watercolor has been a life long passion & I have worked with the medium for more than fifty years. I am a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Rocky Mountain National, Western Federation and SWS. Most recently I received signature membership in Watercolor Honor Society with my third acceptance in Watercolor USA.

My watercolors have been shown in major national & international exhibitions winning many awards. My work has been exhibited in venues nationally – among them the Salmagundi Club in N Y City and the Springfied Art Museum in Springfield, MO. My work has been published in several books and many art magazines.

I co-operated an art gallery and frame shop, Galley VIII, in Plano for 21 years. I am a native Texan and now reside in the country in Denton County.
