IQA Islamic Art Festival: Islam Through the Eyes of Art

DFW Muslim Artists will be hosting an Islamic Art Festival entitled Islam Through the Eyes of Art.

The event will be located at the Islamic Association of North Texas in Richardson on April 28, 2018 from 10am-6pm.

The event is FREE and admission is open to all.
10am-6pm: Islamic art exhibition in the IANT Mult-purpose hall.
12pm-1pm: A live auction for artwork donated by artists with all proceeds going to IQA.
2pm-4pm: Have your name written in Arabic calligraphy!
We will also be holding a Youth Islamic Artist Contest with cash prizes for 5th-12th grade DFW area students.

Food vendors will be on site, and we will also be hosting live performances!

Youth Art Month at the Arlington Museum of Art

March 7 – April 18, 2018

Each Spring the AMA works collaboratively with the Arlington Independent School District to give students the opportunity to display their pieces, done in a wide variety of mediums, to the general public. Six weeks are dedicated to this exhibition. It is held in conjunction with National Youth Art Month and Youth Art Month work on display in Austin, Texas at the Capitol building.

March 7 – 20, 2018: Martin and Bowie High School Networks

March 23 – April 3, 2018 – Juan Sequin and Lamar High School Networks

April 6 – 18, 2018 – Arlington and Sam Houston High School Networks

20 Under 20 opens Jan. 11, 2018

The Allen Arts Alliance is excited to present the Annual “20 under 20” juried art competition, showcasing 20 emerging artists under the age of 20 from throughout Collin County. This year, Comerica Bank is sponsoring the prizes to be awarded to the top 3 artists, who were selected by the Artist Selection Panel composed of professional local artists who volunteer their time to judge this competition. The work of these talented young artists will be on display at the Allen Arts Alliance Blue House Too Artspace in Watters Creek from January 11th through January 28th, 2018.

The Arts Alliance received 382 submissions of original artwork from 82 emerging, young, artists, under the age of 20 from; AllenISD, LovejoyISD, PlanoISD, WylieISD, McKinneyISD and Collin College. For a complete list of the 20 selected artists please visit the Blue House Too website.

“20 under 20” is a juried art exhibit showcasing 20 emerging artists from Collin County. The selected 20 artists have to be under the age of 20 as of January 28, 2018, and are competing in all types of media. Summer Street Art Camp for Teens at Dallas Contemporary

Teen artists meet at Dallas Contemporary for a fun-filled week of hands-on art projects guided by a professional Dallas street artist. Students will utilize various techniques and materials while learning about the importance of street art in contemporary visual culture.
