Night of Holiday Magic call for artists

Celebrate the holiday season at the 17th annual Night of Holiday Magic presented by the City of North Richland Hills. This year’s event will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at NRH2O Family Water Park, 9001 Boulevard 26. Booths are 10 X 10 and cost $60.00.  Craft vendor must provide a 10′ x 10′ white tent, tables, chairs, extension cord and LED lighting for their booth.  Tents are available for rent for $10.  NRH will provide one outlet from a generator for your LED lights.

Artist Talk: Robert Batson this Sunday

Meet the artist, Sept 11. Talk at 1 p.m. Reception from 2-4 p.m.

in the Focus Gallery features large, abstract acrylic paintings by Irving-based artist and retired architect, Robert Batson. Inspired by textiles from the Southwest, Central America and South America and painted with a technique of drips, dribbles, quick brush strokes and lines, the paintings evoke the design, colors, patterns and textures of these indigenous weavings.

Bring the family!  
Second Sunday Family Funday will also be held Sunday, Sept. 11 from1 – 4 p.m. The monthly event features a free arts activity for the whole family. September’s theme is  “Action Painting.”

The Plano Art Association is pleased to announce the Poppy Quartet exhibit.

On display in the PAA Gallery from May 18th through June 11th is the art of four remarkable artists. They have produced their original works over the last three months in collaboration on the theme of poppies. The artists are all PAA members…Malina Tifrea, Marta Soncodi, Rodica Timaru, and Romi Cupcea. This show offers a blend of styles and perspectives that fills our gallery with the vibrant color of growing life.

Best of Show – Karen Jacobi “The Lion”

The Visual Arts Society of Texas (VAST) 10th Annual 125-Mile Visual Arts Exhibition is on display in the Gough Gallery at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center, 400 E. Hickory, through February 21st.

The 125-Mile Exhibition was initiated in 2006 to establish a regional, high-quality juried art exhibition for artists living within a 125-mile radius of Denton, TX, to compete and show their work.

This regional exhibition features 30 pieces of art from artists within a 125 mile radius of Denton, TX. They were selected by Juror Dr. John Marcucci from 155 entries. Some of the winners include:

Best of Show: Karen Jacobi with “The Lion” (Oil on fabric)
1st Place: Martha Underriner with “Aging Memory” (Stoneware and wood)
2nd Place: Kenna Prior with “Floating Kites” (Monotype)
3rd Place: Laura Carter with “Unfinished Business” (Mixed Media)

Of the 30 exhibition artists, 15 are members of VAST. They are: David Blow (Hickory Creek), Deborah Boschert (Lewisville), Darla Bostick (Denton), Nel dorn Byrd (Aubrey), Gail Cope (Farmers Branch), Kathy Elliott (Garland), Angelia Ford (Lake Dallas), Lori Garner (Argyle), Tonya Littmann (Denton), Lori MacLean (Duncanville), Tesa Morin (Denton), Heather Pregger ( ), Kenna Prior (Denton, Laurie Weller(Denton),), and Deanna Wood (Denton).

Juror Dr. John Marcucci is the Director and President of Haley-Henman Gallery LLC, providing contemporary fine art services since 2007. Under his leadership, the gallery focuses on emerging and experienced regional artists of different media, celebrating multicultural diversity and promoting dialogue among artists and collectors.

Dr. Marcucci is also a painter and sculptor, with the notable distinction of having a work in the collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Since 2008, Dr. Marcucci has served as the Juror for multiple regional and state competitions. He currently directs Gallery 422 and other art spaces in the Dallas area. He also serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Dallas Creative Arts Center.

4th Annual Arts in the Square NON-JURIED Booth Space Now Available!

We want to invite you to participate in Arts in the Square, a juried fine art festival. Frisco Square is opening a section of the show to art vendors/merchants to enjoy this wonderful event.

Details:

-Arts in the Square
March 23-24, 2013 (11am – 6pm each day)
-Last year, about 15,000 people attended
-Free Event and free parking
-Deadline to submit form and payment is March 15th
-Space limited

-All booth space is 10×10 (can be doubled)
-no power or water is available
-Overnight security on Saturday night
-$300 for the entire weekend for a 10×10 booth
