Nov 20 – extended DEADLINE to submit Entry Form for 3rd Annual Fest of Trees in Frisco!

Create and give back to the community this holiday season! You are invited to submit a tree, wreath, or two-dimensional artwork for silent auction and display in the Frisco Art Gallery at the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 N. Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of any tree or wreath goes to CASA of Collin County, whereas thirty percent of the proceeds from the sale of any tree or holiday-themed two-dimensional art piece will go to CASA, with the remaining seventy percent going back to the artist.

Third Annual Festival of Trees in Frisco – NO Entry FEE! Call for trees, wreaths, and 2D work!

Celebrate the holiday season by creatively giving back to your community! Create a tree, wreath, or two-dimensional piece of artwork to benefit CASA of Collin County. 100% of the proceeds of the sale of any tree or wreath will go to CASA, whereas 30% of the proceeds of the sale of any two-dimensional art piece will go to CASA and the remaining 70% will go back to the artist. No entry fee to participate. Submit images of your work (or proposals) by Nov 7th to Paige Prater, Frisco Arts Director of Marketing & Exhibits: pprater@friscoarts.org

From Nov 24-Dec 20, the pieces will be exhibited in the Frisco Art Gallery at the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 N. Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034.

“Salvaged” Art Show Reception + Panel Discussion NEXT Wed, April 9

Interested in artwork made from salvaged materials and the artistic process of creating them?

Come on out to see the “Salvaged” exhibition in the Frisco Art Gallery at the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 N. Dallas Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75034. The reception and panel discussion happens Wed, April 9,  from 7-9PM. The panel will be comprised of:

  • Karen Dodson, one of the jurors for the “Salvaged” exhibition and a local artist who does murals and constructs small robots out of found objects
  • Jody Wissing, another participating local artist in the “Salvaged” exhibition, member of Frisco’s Public Art Board, and explorer of abandoned towns and buildings
  • Elizabeth Salmon,  another participating artist in the “Salvaged” exhibition, and a high-schooler at Wakeland in Frisco ISD

Participating artist Janine Maupin will also give a brief gallery talk and the “Best of Show” winner will be announced. FREE and open to the public.

Salvaged – Finalized Jury and Call for Art (Deadline 3/15)

The Frisco Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition of two and three-dimensional works in a variety of media for the month of April. The catch? Each piece must be consciously constructed with materials that are reused or repurposed and/or with non-toxic, “all natural,” organic, or otherwise “green” mediums.

Frisco Arts is partnering with the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco to offer a holiday exhibition in the Frisco Art Gallery with a silent auction to benefit CASA of Collin County. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of any tree or wreath will go to CASA of Collin County. 70% of the proceeds of the sale of any two-dimensional piece of artwork will go to CASA, with 30% going back to the artist. Open-house reception on Dec 8, from 2-5PM.

All artwork displayed during Festival of Trees 2013 must be for sale. If two-dimensional artwork sells, 30% of the sale goes to CASA of Collin County and 70% goes back to support the artist. If a tree or wreath sells, 100% goes to CASA of Collin County.

“Taste + See” Call for Art Extended through June 24!

From the gastronomical still-life to the visually lush abstract or relief sculpture, artwork has the capacity to recreate a sensory experience!

Submit your pieces to the Frisco Art Gallery BY JUNE 24 to be considered for participation in the “Taste + See” show, July 3-28. All mediums are eligible!
