ART JOURNALING AT THE SPEED OF LIFE
With Pam Carriker
Thursday and Friday, June 2 and 3
9:00am – 4:00pm
(lunch break: 12:00pm – 1:00pm)
Are you still unsure if Visual Journaling is for you? Do you think you’re missing the point of keeping an Art Journal? Visual Journals are a valuable tool and play a key role in an artists creative process. In this workshop you’ll be immersed in the Visual Journaling Process beginning with that often-intimidating blank white page by creating a variety of backgrounds using acrylic inks and stencils. From there your journal will morph into unique pages as you add your artist mark to every element on every page, and learn to manage color using color wheel stencils. With an emphasis on listening to your authentic inner voice, you’ll learn to hear what your journal is telling you, taking clues from what is already on the page and letting it unfold as a part of a process, not a pre-planned design. We will cover fundamental art elements that will propel you forward in all areas of mixed media art.
Instructor Will Supply: Stencils and stamps, for class use, Stencil paper, Matisse Background, Paints, Dry Wax Deli Paper, Super Adhesive Tape by Rubber Stamp Concepts, double sided 3/8″ and 1″, Matt Fluid Sheer Acrylic paints (my line with Matisse), Acrylic Inks (my line with Matisse), Mixed Media Adhesive, Liquid Pencil Sketching Inks, Cats Eye Chalk Inks, Workshop handouts
