Free Basic Class on Spinning & Knitting
Dates: May 4, 11, 18
Instructor: Ameda Holmes
REGISTER

Ameda Holmes has been knitting and working with yarn since she was 5 years old.  Her grandmother was a true master and taught her how to design as well as create.  In 1985 she decided that natural fibers were the way to go and she learned to spin her own yarn.  For the three Thursday evenings in May she will be teaching spinning and knitting.  The first night will be devoted to spinning. Attendees will be introduced to the basics of spinning and will receive a spindle and fiber to work with.  The next two nights will be devoted to the basics of knitting.  Everyone will be making simple slippers. Needles and yarn will be provided.

2016 DFW Fiber Fest April 1-3

DFWFiberFest

April 1-3, 2016 Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas

DFW Fiber Fest is the premier annual fiber event in the Dallas-Fort Worth community.  Held each Spring, DFW Fiber Fest is a locally focused non-profit organization that offers both vendors and classes.  We bring in a juried selection of local and regional fiber vendors (with a few who are from outside of our regional area to spice up the mix).  Educationally, we offer a slate of classes from both nationally known and local teachers in the fiber arts – primarily in knitting, crochet, and spinning.  (For more about DFW Fiber fest, see the “About” page.)

Registration is now open. Schedule: http://www.dfwfiberfest.org/schedule.html
