Coppell Art Splash at Andy Brown Park – Deadline Extended

The City of Coppell Arts Council (CAC) is proud to announce a call for entries for Andy Brown Art Splash, a biennial outdoor public art exhibit. This exihibit is an extension of Phase I which was implemented in Old Town Coppell.   CAC will select up to ten sculptures to be exhibited for a 2-year period.  Coppell is a family friendly, community centric town. Andy Brown has recently been renovated and the city is utilizing this new area for community wide events and festivals.  The location promises great exposure for the artist.  In addition to this the Coppell Arts Council will host a Meet the Artist event and promote the exhibit throughout the DFW region.   Citizen’s will vote for their favorite sculpture and CAC will consider purchasing a sculpture from the Old Town and Andy Brown exhibits.  Selected artists will be provided a stipend of $1500 for the exhibit and winner of the People’s Choice will receive an additional $500.

2017 Annual Outdoor Art Exhibit Celebrating Diversity


Art is a powerful tool to evoke social change. Without uttering a single word, artists can enlighten, educate and effect change around the world.  Embracing Our Differences invites all artists to be a part of this change through your submissions to its 14th annual outdoor juried art exhibit celebrating diversity and inclusion. Artists, photographers, professionals, amateurs, teachers, students – everyone can participate.  42 artists will be selected and national and international submissions are encouraged. The exhibit will be displayed April and May 2017 in Sarasota, FL USA.  Since 2004, the exhibits have been viewed by more than 2,200,000 visitors.

Final selections will be made by a three-judge panel of professional artists, curators and art professionals and based on artistic excellence and originality in the reflection of our theme “enriching lives through diversity.” $3,000 (US) in awards will be presented.  There is no submission fee nor limit on the number of entries.  Submissions must be submitted online or postmarked no later than January 10, 2017.

The City of Dallas Public Art Program seeks qualifications for a new art project that will celebrate and honor the contributions of Dallas musicians Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan. The selected artist(s) will create an artwork that is integrated into the selected site at Kiest Park and enhances the experience of visitors to the park.

Sibling blues guitarists Jimmie Vaughan and Stevie Ray Vaughan were born and raised near Kiest Park in Dallas, Texas. The Vaughan brothers are recognized as two of the greatest blues musicians and as important figures in the of blues revival of the 1980s. The brothers earned the praise of Muddy Waters, Albert King and Eric Clapton as well as other international pop stars such as Nile Rodgers and David Bowie.
