(6:30 critique by Jo Williams) Location: University of North Texas Health Science Center, Bldg. 2 – Everett Hall, Fort Worth, TX 76107. Directions see website: http://www.swawatercolor.com/

Guest Artist: Marla Morrison Fucich

I currently live in the Dallas area. I have a B.F.A. from Texas State University, in San Marcos, Texas, and an M.F.A. from Claremont Graduate University, in Claremont, California. My work is rooted in drawing techniques. I use acrylic inks on smooth board, and enjoy the ‘action and reaction’ of design. While I reference items from nature, like leaves, bugs, and animal tails, for example, the work is non-objective

From 1999 to the present, I’ve been an Education Advisor for Winsor & Newton. I give workshops showcasing Winsor & Newton artists’ materials at colleges and universities in the North Texas Area. The presentations cover pigment history, how quality color is made, color bias, pigment characteristics, glazing technique, use of mediums and primers, how to choose the best brush, and more. Thanks to this job, I look forward to sharing painting information with any interested person.
