Call for Entry – OPA 27th National Exhibition

Oil Painters of America will hold its 27th National Juried Exhibition of Representational Oil Paintings, June 1 through September 3, 2018 at Steamboat Art Museum in Steamboat Springs, CO.

Approximately 25 awards will be given with a total value estimated in excess of $100,000, including a
$25,000 Best of Show. Convention events will include a wet paint competition with total awards
valued at $10,000 in both studio and plein air divisions, multiple demonstrations, interviews, discussions
and exhibitors. Juror of Awards will be renown Master Signature Artist Craig Tennant OPAM.

Deadline for online submissions is midnight on Friday, January 26, 2018. To enter, artists must be a citizen of the U.S., Canada or Mexico and be a paid 2018 member of OPA at an annual fee of $70. OPA is

National Exhibition entry fee: $30 for the first entry, $15 for the second; only one painting may be
accepted. Maximum size limit is 1200 sq. in

In 1949, the Texas Watercolor Society was founded with the mission to advance the art of painting in watercolors, and hold annual exhibitions of watercolor paintings. Today, more than 60 years later, TWS continues to promote the high standards set by its founders. As a national exhibit, TWS proudly takes its place among the elite watercolor organizations in the nation as they continue to exhibit and promote some of the of the best artists working in that unique and vibrant medium — watercolor.

Subliminal messaging has been used in arts, advertising, and propaganda to trigger desire, elicit sales, and persuade audiences to take action. The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau, MO is looking for artists who use subliminal stimuli to reinforce the content of their works. This summer exhibit welcomes original artwork of all media from artists across the United States. Entry fee: $30, 3 Images.

Juror: Ali Cavanaugh is an internationally represented fine artist. Her modern fresco paintings on kaolin clay have been the subject of numerous national and international solo and group exhibitions. Cavanaugh’s paintings have been featured on book covers, countless internet features such as the Huffington Post, Fine Art Connoisseur, Hi-Fructose and in print publications including The New York Times Magazine, American Art Collector, American Artist Watercolor.
