The show will occur in Fort Worth Community Arts Center’s premier, 3000 square foot, Front Gallery. All artwork must be original and must not infringe upon any copyright or the rights of any person.

PRIZE: A Solo Exhibition in one of our 700 sq ft galleries during Fall Gallery Night 2018. Fall Gallery Night is an event that occurs once a year during September. It is arguably our most popular opening of year were we anticipate more than 3000 visitors in a single night.

ABOUT THE JUROR: Lauren Childs began studying classical figure drawing by the age of twelve.  She attended both Northwestern University, studying Theatre Arts, and The University of Texas at Arlington, receiving her B.A. in Art History, where she met and studied under artist and Gallery Director, Benito Huerta.

VAGF at the ARTS Gallery of Collin College – call for entries


VAGF Juried show in the ARTS Gallery of Collin College

(at Spring Creek campus) – Call for Artworks

VAGF is excited to provide members with an opportunity to exhibit their works in a juried art show. The show will be on the display at Spring Creek campus from July 27 through August 17. If interested, send artwork images (include title, medium, dimensions, and price) to exhibits@vagf.org (put Collin College in the subject line) by Sunday, June 18. Artworks submitted by May 14 will be considered for featuring in promotional materials.

The show will be juried by Dr. Letha Clair Robertson, Art Historian.

Timeline for the show
Submission: Sunday, June 18 (early submission May 14)
Notification of acceptance: July 1
Artworks delivery to the gallery: Thursday, July 20 from 9-5pm or Friday July 21 from 9-3pm
Reception: Thursday, July 27th from 4-7pm
Artworks Pickup: Friday August 18, from 9:00-3:00 pm or Saturday Aug 19 from 9:00-3:00

VAGF will retain 30% commission for all sales generated during the event.

All submitted works should be ready-to-hang with wire taut at the upper fourth of the frame. Saw hook hanging will not be accepted. All works on 1/2” canvases should be framed. All the works on 1”to 2” canvases need to have neatly painted edges if not framed.

The 2017 Trinity Arts Guild Winter Members’ Juried Show challenge theme is “Embracing Exploration”. Up to $1,200 in prizes and cash awards.

Challenge Category 4. Embracing Exploration This entry should explore subjects or art forms from around the world. It may include but is not limited to exotic animals, tribal art, oriental painting techniques or works from exotic locations. Each entry must include a written artist statement about the work. The artist statement should be mounted on an 8”x10” mat board or framed to be hung with your artwork.

Work must have been created within the last 5 years. All media are eligible. Sculpture must have its own base and stand.

Each member may enter one work for $15. Existing members may pay dues during registration on May 7, and we welcome new members at this time. TVAA does not take a commission on any work that is sold. Medical City receives 15% of final sales.

J U R O R Prizes will be awarded by Maureen Brouillette. Ms. Brouillette is an accomplished artist and teacher. She has been featured in The Artist’s Magazine and Watercolor Artist magazine and has received numerous awards in national juried exhibits. Maureen has work in corporate collections, including a recent acquisition by Rutgers University. Brouillette previously worked for 25 years as a commercial designer and art director. Only LGAA members are allowed entries and membership dues must be current and in good standing. Please signup to docent during the show. A docent signup will be available at art check-in.

Artists may submit up to two (2) entries for $15 per piece, non-refundable.

Works must be original. No workshop or class work. No computer generated art. Use of published photos is prohibited unless the artist produced the images.

No nudes. No late entries. Show chairman has the authority to decline/disqualify any unacceptable work.

Work MUST be framed ready to hang with appropriate hanger/wire. No sawtooth hangers. Unframed gallery-wrap canvases must be at least 1 ½” deep with no exposed staples. Edges must be painted (not white).

Outside MAXIMUM length/width 40”x 40”- including the frame.

All artwork must be for sale. Please state valid price reflecting current market value for your work. For any art work sold, LGAA shall be entitled to retain 15% of the selling price as commission.

All reasonable care of artwork will be given. LGAA will not be responsible for loss or damage to any work while in its custody. Submission of entries to this exhibition constitutes agreement on the part of the entrant to all conditions set forth in this prospectus.

  4. April 6, 2016: Opening day of the Annual Show.

Weatherproof, 21st Annual Membership Show & Aurora 2015 @ The MAC | Cedars


AURORA 2015 
On Saturday, October 17 from 3 p.m. to Midnight, The MAC will host its 21st Annual Membership Show, Weatherproof. This inaugural exhibition at The MAC’s new home in the Cedars calls on members to create artworks to be displayed in an outdoor space. This event will collaborate for the first time with Aurora, presented by AT&T Performing Arts Center. Aurora founders Shane Pennington and Joshua King will select a collection of works by Texas-based artists to be featured alongside those created by The MAC members, including installations by Angel Cabrales, Jeff Gibbons and Gregory Ruppe, Letitia Huckaby, and Jeremy McKane. Together The MAC and Aurora will present a unique interactive exhibition and live music.
Weatherproof kicks off at 3:30 with a lecture by The MAC’s architect Dan Shipley. Dan will give insights into his own practice as well as his plans for the new compound in the Cedars. There will be live performances by Dallas’ own Jamal Mohamed Big Band with special guest Alia and Austin’s Warren Hood Band. Food trucks will dish out refreshments throughout the evening.
For the first time, an invitation to attend the Annual Membership Show will be limited to members and their guests and Aurora Wrap Party guests. The Annual Membership Show is one of the cornerstones of the spirit and mission of The MAC, celebrating emerging and established artistic talent in Dallas and surrounding areas. The MAC is pleased to collaborate with Aurora on this exhibition and to extend the footprint of the high-profile event. Weatherproof will be displayed Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Aurora is a large-scale, immersive public art event held every two years, featuring artworks using light, video, sound, and performance across 68-acres of The Dallas Arts District. Friday, October 16 will be its fourth edition, and will include works from more than 76 local and international artists.

The MAC Mission
The MAC is a nonprofit organization that stands as a Dallas advocate for creative freedom offering the opportunity for experimentation and presentation of art in all disciplines. It supports the emerging and established artist’s role in society by providing a forum for critical dialogue with their audiences. This relationship is cultivated through education and innovative programming.
The MAC is open for special events and by appointment as we undergo renovations at our new location.

Theme: Weatherproof 
All persons with memberships valid through October 2015 are eligible to submit artwork. Entrants must be or become members of The McKinney Avenue Contemporary at the time of submission. Membership applications and information about membership benefits can be acquired at www.the-mac.org. A One (1) Year Artist / Student Membership is $30.
Member Artist Submissions & Requirements
Each artist can submit only one artwork but could also participate in one collaborative work. We strongly encourage free-standing artworks due to limited wall space.
Please note: there is no access to electrical outlets – artworks with electrical components cannot be accommodated.
×        Visual Art: wall-mounted art cannot exceed 2 pounds and 2 feet in any dimension and must be ready to install on date of delivery. Free-standing art cannot exceed 100 pounds and 5 feet in any dimension.
  • o    For free-standing artworks: if you are able to position the artwork yourself without the assistance of MAC staff there is no weight limit.
×        Performance Art / Literary Readings: Performance Art and Literary Readings will be presented during the opening reception.
×        Collaborative Works: Please contact The MAC to obtain the criteria for participation and guidelines for collaborative works.
Submission Criteria
Work that does not comply with these requirements will not be accepted. The MAC will not refund membership fees to those that have not complied with the submission guidelines.
  1. 1.      All works must be labeled with the following information:
–        Artists first and last name
–        Title, media and date of work
–        Indication of top of image if necessary for visual art
  1. 2.      Free standing artwork should not exceed 5′ in any dimension
  2. 3.      Free standing work should not exceed 100lbs
  3. 4.      Artwork to be hung on walls should not exceed 2′ in any dimension
  4. 5.      Artwork to be hung on walls should not exceed 5lbs
  5. 6.      Wall-mounted work must be ready to hang
–        Wall-mounted works will be hung using zipties.
–        Please ensure there are two screw eyes or some other means to suspend zipties
  1. 7.      Include a caption sheet with your name, address and contact information at the top left of the page.
–        The caption sheet should include:
×        Title, Date, Dimensions, Medium
×        Brief captions or explanatory notes of work
×        Price if the work is for sale
Drop Off Dates & Deadline
Drop off dates are Saturday, October 10 from 11am – 5pm and Wednesday through Friday, October 13 – 16 from 11am to 3pm. All entries must be received no later than Friday, October 16 at 3:00pm. Please contact The MAC to set up an appointment to drop off your artwork if these dates/times conflict with your schedule. Out of town artists are welcomed to ship their artwork to The MAC before October 15. Please include paid return shipment or make alternative arrangements for the return of your artwork. Notification and Return of Work
The MAC will provide a time and date after the closing of the exhibition for all works to be collected. The MAC requests that artists who sell their work as a result of the show to arrange separately for the delivery of the work to the buyer. You are responsible for picking up or arranging pick up of your artwork after the membership show.
The dates and times that the MAC will be open for art pick-up are:
Saturday, October 24 through Monday, October 26 from 11am to 5 p.m. 
Please contact The MAC to set up an appointment to drop off your artwork if these dates/times conflict with your schedule. Due to limited storage space, if your artwork remains after October 27th the MAC is not liable for loss or damage to your work.
The MAC is not responsible for the loss or damage of works while in transit or while on display at The MAC. The MAC reserves the right to reproduce images of artwork in the 2015 Membership Show on The MAC website and in any Membership Show advertising or collateral associated with the exhibition.
Submission of work to the exhibit indicates acceptance of conditions stated above.
