FAB Now 2017 – The Maker Conference & EXPO Feb. 17 -19

fab-now-logo

FAB Now is an educational meetup and EXPO – an experience about Makers, Makerspaces, and the Maker Movement. It is for all those in the middle of making – to tell their stories and showcase their skills, and for all those who may have heard a little, but are ready to hear more, much more.

It is for educators and administrators, for engineers and scientists, librarians, artists and artisans, administrators and city planners, entrepreneurs, inventors, families and kids. FAB Now brings together the diversity that is the Maker Movement – for conversation, collaboration, and the creativity that surfaces everywhere – when a community is energized by shared ingenuity, and the sheer openness that Making engenders.

Dallas Makerspace

dallasmakerspace

Dallas Makerspace is for makers of all kinds, including artists. The Dallas Makerspace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, shared community workshop and laboratory. They are an organized group of local artists, engineers, makers, and thinkers who work together to provide tools and learning resources to the public.

The organization offers a weekly Open House, whick is the best time for you to meet other Makers and get a tour of the Makerspace. The event is open to the public and starts at 7:00pm every Thursday. On the 2nd Thursday of each month, there will also be an Official Monthly Membership Meeting at 8:00pm. Official meetings involve committee reports and voting on matters concerning the Makerspace.

Membership is pricy compared to most artist organizations, but becoming a member provides you with 24/7 access to our tools and workspace outside of public training, workshops, and classes. As a member you also have a voice in how the organization is run. Members are also allowed to hold events, use the space for meetings and even have guests over. Please note, guests must sign liability waivers and may not use tools. For more information please see the Guests section of our Rules & Policies.

You don’t have to join to participate in one of the art workshops. Art-related topics run the gamut:   rubber mold-making, the business of crafts, photography, 3D printing, ceramics, life drawing, etc.
