You are invited to a free lecture Making Poetry Visual where Thomas explores the affinities between calligraphy, poetry, and music in a discussion of his collaborative work with contemporary poets. This work originated in 2004 when he met the English poet, David Annwn. The poetry collaborations continue to this day and include poets from the UK, the Philippines, Singapore, Tibet, and the USA.
The lecture is at 7:00 pm, Friday, March 17, 2017, in the Riley Special Collections Reading Room on the Third Floor of Moody Library at Baylor University – elevators and stairs available. Go in the main Starbucks lobby doors (facing 3rd Street), and the elevators are just down the only hallway that goes off of the lobby. Students will learn decorative patterning techniques to create a monogram letter suitable for framing using pigment ink pens, gold gouache and watercolor. Supplies: $10 cash due to instructor.

Unleash the creative artist in you as we explore mixed media and design an abstract aqueous media  painting on watercolor paper. Students will be using acrylic paint, patterning and watercolor painting techniques to create this little masterpiece.

Faculty will be announced October 15, 2013. If you are an instructor interested in teaching a 2 1/2 day or 5 day workshop at Legacies, please send in a proposal to teach located online.
Legacies will also feature Embellishments Expo – 90 minute and 3 hour classes and vendor booths offered throughout the entire week open to the public.
