Odessa Arts is seeking applications from artists and designers interested in creating artwork for four electrical boxes along Golder Avenue. The boxes will become part of an Outdoor Gallery of Public Art, joining sixteen already completed boxes. The completed boxes will be unveiled in Spring 2018.

One artist or designer will be selected for this opportunity and will be paid an all-inclusive fee of $4000 to create the artwork. This project will create a unique and memorable visual statement that will highlight the Public Art Program here in Odessa. We are seeking an artist or designer who will approach the boxes as a family of art works and can create a unified and artistically interesting body of work. This project will expand the original 16 traffic boxes that were commissioned in 2016. The chosen artist will be required to submit a design for four traffic utility boxes. The boxes will be wrapped with adhesive vinyl on which the art has been printed.

Calling all Texas artists! Want to see your artwork featured on a bottle of wine? Enter the 2018 Messina Hof Wine Label Competition! The winning piece will be proudly displayed on a special run of Messina Hof wine bottles, plus cash prizes for the top three artists. This competition is open to all artists over the age of 21 residing in Texas. Entries may be any 2D medium including but not limited to: watercolor, oil, pastel, pencil, acrylic, collage, multimedia, and digital art.

Messina Hof takes great pride in making wine with Texas Soul – so this year we want to see what the “Heart and Soul of Texas” looks like. When searching for inspiration, think of what Texas means to you. What about Texas has filled your heart and soul? Whether it be late nights at the rodeo, picking wildflowers, or scootin’ across the dance hall, put our grand state on canvas and create a masterpiece!

Twin City Properities will provide a 2-bedroom apartment free of charge, and The Arts Council will provide a $500 stipend and access to a studio space free of charge.

The Woodlands, Texas is an award-winning, master-planned community of more than 100,000 residents with a strong history of public art. The Woodlands Arts Council invites national and international artists to apply for the next installation of the Woodlands Art Bench outdoor permanent collection. The call is for Six (6) separate Art Benches.

Sites can be viewed at: Bench Sites  Walk from The Woodlands Mall to Town Green Park and enjoy the beauty and practicality of the one-of-a-kind Art Benches designed by local, national and international artists.

Three (3) finalists will be chosen for each bench in a preliminary selection process and will receive a $300 stipend. One (1) artist from these finalists will be chosen to construct a bench, receiving a stipend of $8,000. Artists are encouraged to work conceptually with the chosen site and underwriter’s vision. Fort Works Art Fourth Annual Betsy Price High School Art Competition

High School artists in Fort Worth, TX and surrounding areas are invited to a special art competition. The top selected students will be featured in a 2-week art exhibition at Fort Works Art Gallery from April 25 – May 12, 201. Mayor Betsy Price will be presenting three final awards May 12th at 4pm. The top Final Grand Prize Winners work will be featured in City Hall at the Mayor’s office for the duration of one year. FORT WORKS ART will be awarding a $500 first prize, a $300 second prize and a $100 third prize for best 2-D (including photography) or 3-D artwork to a 9-12th grade student in the selected area.  Jurors are to be announced.

“The 35th Annual Party Art Sale and Exhibition” at THE MUSEUM OF WESTERN ART in Kerrville TX

It’s time to ROUNDUP our artists, members, art purchasers and supporters for another show and party. The Museum of Western Art (MoWA) is pleased to invite you to submit images for the “The Party Art Sale and Exhibition” at THE MUSEUM OF WESTERN ART. The date for the exhibition and sale is Saturday, September 15, 2018. The museum is extremely excited to have this opportunity to exhibit your recent works of art. Images of all art to be juried and the artist’s registration form need to be submitted by email to the museum by June 1, 2018. Each image submitted must have a resolution of at least 300dpi and be no smaller than 1000 pixels (or 3.3 inches) in the smallest dimension, in order to use for advertising. The email address is as follows: mshepherd@mowatx.com. The exhibition will remain on view and available for purchase thru Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

To have your work juried for possible inclusion in the exhibition, please email the images of your art and artist’s registration form to the museum by June 1, 2018. Mantle Art Space’s 2nd Annual Juried Show

Excavations; Shindig.
Mantle will be accepting a limited amount (based on exhibition space) of pieces for exhibition at the gallery in San Antonio, TX in April 2018. Best in Show will be awarded a solo show at Mantle Art Space in 2019.

Juror: Saralene Tapley is a visual artist located in Houston, Texas.

Artists of all levels and media accepted. We are looking for contemporary work with any interpretation on the theme.

Submissions will be accepted digitally. Photographs of 3-D or alternative medium works encouraged. Pieces must be able to be delivered and displayed in San Antonio, TX.

Images should be labeled with the artist’s name and title (ex. SLawrence_Muse01). Email must contain the following: Image Name, Dimensions, Year, Medium and any special exhibiting details. Artists may choose to include a statement.

Artists are welcome to submit up to 5 images, $30 for the first three and $5 for each additional image.

The Public Art Program of the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs requests the submission of qualifications from artists for consideration to design, fabricate and install a free-standing, outdoor public artwork that will be a tribute to the life and work of Dallas artist Arthello Beck, Jr.

Arthello Beck, Jr., Dallas African-American artist, was born in Dallas on July 17, 1941. He was the first African American to own and operate an art gallery in Dallas. Arthello believed his art was a means of communication, a vital therapeutic form of expression for the young and old. His paintings reflected positive images of African-American people and culture; congregations at river baptisms, ladies at a beauty shop, children learning, sports scenes and dads reading to their babies are just some of the everyday scenes Beck captured on canvas.

Artwork should create a space or environment that invites community interaction with the artwork and incorporates themes central to Arthello Beck’s work.  Themes include references to positive African American experiences appropriate for children and adults in the surrounding neighborhoods. The Project Budget is $81,488.
