Jo Williams

About Jo Williams:
Jo Williams is a native Texas artist who has been painting professionally for about thirty years. Ms. Williams is a versatile and accomplished painter choosing her subjects from the world around her. Much of her work is inspired by her travels primarily throughout the southwestern United Sates. Jo Williams’ states, “I find my inspiration for painting in the natural world. As a child growing up in the woods and prairies of North Texas, where I continue to live, I spent hours roaming the woods and meadows near my home. The images of big skies, trees, roots, rocks, creeks, leaves, and acorns are all strongly embedded in my psyche. As I travel to other locales, I always seek out similar subject matter. Even though my subjects are basically representational, I am not a photo-realist. Once I am painting, the work is about the process and not about the subject.”

Her work has been exhibited in numerous regional and national juried exhibitions, several solo exhibitions and her work is included in many private collections and public collections.
