The Costumed Model

July 16: 10am – 2pm
Come and paint in any medium, the costumed model with portraitist Julie Wende. The class will focus on lighting the model and painting in a high key, with emphasis on loose brush work. The class will take place in the FWCAC. Intro to Instagram and Facebook Marketing

In this information age, a knowledge of communication technology can serve an artist well in their quest to find recognition for their work. The Intro to Instagram or Facebook Marketing will serve as a standalone class for people who want to learn how to use these two platforms to sell and spread word about their art. $25 TAC members/$30 Non-TAC members.

This class will be about strategies on utilizing social media and blogging to sell art online and offline, not instruction on how to use any specific media platform. No how-to instruction will be given on the platforms.
$25 TAC members/$30 Non-TAC members
Matthew Miller and Ruth Meharg are both artists and a married couple. Matt goes by the moniker Sunflowerman in his menswear illustration business. His illustrations are meant to provide a new perspective on story telling, quality and creativity by creating the most influential Menswear Illustrations in the world to elevate Menswear Fashion around the world. Ruth works as a freelance illustrator who loves breaking down and dissecting the world around her, interpreting stories, cultures and other forms of creative expression through her art. She has created pieces in variety of mediums, everything from ink and colored pencils to watercolors and oils, but her more recent work is mostly in acrylic and collage.

Deep Ellum Instagram Event April 30


Deep Ellum Instagram Scavenger Hunt, Art Edition – Thursday, April 30th, 6:30pm

Deep Ellum is renowned for it’s legendary street art and as Dallas’ most eclectic entertainment district.

On Thursday, April 30th, the Deep Ellum Instagram Scavenger Hunt – Art Edition* offers an entertaining romp through the neighborhood’s iconic art and murals scattered throughout our streets, art parks, and venues.

The fun begins with a quick registration at 6:30pm at 2650-B Main St., across from Lula Bs. At 8:30pm, the hunt concludes with an after party, complimentary cocktails by Jameson, and prize announcements.

* $10 entry fee per participant. Participants must be 21 years of age or older with valid I.D.

INSTAMEET at the Modern March 7: Instagram Event


The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth 
Hosts #emptymodern INSTAMEET

Participants are invited to photograph at the Modern from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, March 7.  


Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth and community Instagrammers. Participants are asked to register on-site the morning of the event beginning at 8:30 am.

Before the Modern opens to the public and, therefore, is “empty.” Saturday, March 7, from 9 to 10 am; registration begins at 8:30 am.

Continuing with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth’s Instagram initiative, #emptymodern, the community is invited to participate in an InstaMeet at the “empty Modern.” The museum is closed to the public Saturday morning, therefore the participants have the opportunity to venture through the museum and grounds unimpeded. They may snap away with their favorite smartphone or camera. All the photos the participants upload to Instagram will be tagged #emptymodern @themodernfw. The goal of this initiative is to showcase new perspectives on the Modern to the public, grow #emptymodern and Modern followers, as well as support our participants as they build their followers. The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth partnered with photographer Olaf Growald to begin the #emptymodern initiative using Instagram in October 2014.
