Do you have a love for all things crafty? And are you a fan of great deals? If so – you won’t want to miss out on this weekend’s craft garage sale taking place at the Jaycee Arts Center in Irving starting at noon.
What started out as a side table after my next Copic Club class has turned into *14 BOXES* of crafty goodness. Yup – you read that right… 14 full boxes! That means literally HUNDREDS of rubber stamps, clear stamps, paper, inks, ephemera, punches, tools, and other crafty treasures at a mere fraction of their original cost. I’ll have a box of freebies as well.
Why am I sharing all this crafty goodness with you? I’m paring down my existing collection (affectionately called a “Michael’s store” by my friends) to make room for visiting relatives and a few new hobbies. ;) My limited space is your gain!
So here’s how it will work. I will be teaching the DFW Copic Club class from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning (June 13th). I’ll be shutting down the classroom from 11:30-12:00 to get supplies unloaded and will re-open the small gallery room right around noon for shopping. The sale will go until 3 p.m. I hope you can swing by, say hello, and pick up a treasure or two! Feel free to forward this message to any of your crafty friends that might also like to come by.
Accepted Forms of Payment:
Oh – and just in case anyone is interested…I have just *one* spot left in Saturday’s Copic Club class. We’ll be practicing feathering two different color families together while making the below yummy cupcake card. (Anyone hungry yet?) ;)
If you have attended Copic 101 and want to join in the club fun this month, please respond to this e-mail. Open spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. The class fee is $25. Additional registration details can be found below.

Kettle Art proudly presents our tenth annual holiday gift show “Holiday Presence 10”, opening on Thursday, December 4, 7:00-10:00pm. This exhibit will run through Wednesday, December 24, and will feature small works and unique, artisan-crafted gifts made exclusively by local artists, including Richard Ross, Judith Lea Perkins, Brad Albright, Emily Hawkins, Clint Scism, Megan Petasky, Clay Stinnett, Michael Francis, Jody Pham, Cabe Booth, Corey Godfrey, Richard Andrew Sharum, Justin Clumpner, Larry Carey, Patricia Rodriguez, Nick Glenn, and more, with most pieces under $100.00. In light of the holiday season, all pieces are ‘cash (or charge!) & carry’.
Expect to see plenty of special announcements posted, such as artists on hand doing ‘artsy things’, updates on new items, impromptu parties, and extended hours throughout this exhibit. Be sure to stay ‘in the know’ by checking in often on our facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/497250047084912/?ref=ts&fref=ts
Kettle Art began its mission in 2005, a year that also introduced Art Conspiracy and The Lollipop Shoppe. There must have been something in the air that year as these three preeminent showcases all evolved into forces to be reckoned with. From the very beginning, Kettle has maintained two overall objectives: to offer local creatives a place to exhibit; and to rejuvenate the artistic roots in the Deep Ellum neighborhood. Throughout the years, we have hosted over 140 exhibitions, in various media, featuring only North Texas artists. This averages out to one show every three weeks, with over $200,000.00 going directly into the pockets of local artists.
Join us during “Holiday Presence 10” as we enter our tenth year of celebrating the amazing local artists who make our art scene one of the most vibrant in the country!
Juxtapoz, USA Today, ArtPlace America, Art News, Glasstire, Southern Living, Dallas Morning News, Art&Seek, Modern Luxury, D Magazine, Dallas Observer, CultureMap, CraveDFW, Dallas Voice, You+Dallas, and Central Track.

The Art of Nature
Recent Artwork by Silvia Thornton and Anne Neal
Through January 31, 2015
Presented at the White Rock Lake Museum (located inside the Bath House Cultural Center) during the Art Mart
The White Rock Lake Museum presents The Art of Nature, a mixed media art exhibition that features recent works by Silvia Thornton and Anne Neal. The exhibition pays homage to nature by exploring organic forms and processes selected by the two artists to create their works of art. The art investigates the creative potential of natural materials and serves as a form of expression that the artists use to communicate ideas that come from their life experiences, love of art, and unlimited imagination.
