Hiral Joshi’s Colors Of Wings opens Jan. 25 in Irving

Colors Of Wings by artist Hiral Joshi will be on exhibit Jan. 25 – Feb. 26, 2015 at the Irving Art Association‘s Jaycee Park Center for the Arts. You are invited to attend the Reception on Sunday, January 25th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.

The Indian-born artist creates a colorful paen to birds — Her watermedia portrayals combine playful spontaneity with an exquisite sense of drawing.

About the Artist:

Hiral Joshi was born and raised in India, and moved to the US some years back. She graduated with a degree in science and then Computer Animation Design & Multimedia, for over 10 years she has worked as a Visualizer.

But today she is far away from computer-aided creativity — Instead she ventures out into the world of imagination and abstraction. Her visual artwork consists of acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media.

With a professional background in graphics and interactive online media, she brings an animated sense of precision to her work. For more about the artist, see her website http://www.hiraljoshifineart.com/

Artist’s Statement

Scarlet macawFor me, fine art is a lifelong continuous learning experience. I feel I am constantly learning about myself and the world around me. I never seem to get enough of it. Depicting God’s own wonderous nature, the people and emotions, and even manmade creations on canvas is an exhilarating experience for me.

My favourite art icon is Van Gogh. I love his impressionist style of painting landscapes, which I use in most of my paintings. My favorite Indian idol is B. Prabha, whose portrait paintings had truly inspired me during childhood days, and led me into the world of fine art. I love all Indian tribal art and I always use them in my decorative painting.

Although my subject matter may have changed with time, what has not changed is my attraction to nature; being drawn in by different style textures and details all with rich colors.

My latest work is just playing with acrylic paint — trying out textures and combining run, drip, and flow effects.  I usually use these as a background or base to add to – for example: these bird studies of sparrows and parrots. In each case, I imagine what would best go with the semi-accidentally achieved background – so the process is an adventure rather than a contrived painting from the beginning!

This show is about the colors, beautiful birds, bold brush strokes, textures and loosening up emotions. The name of the show ‘Colors Of Wings’ says enough about the show.
