agpalogo2

The ASSOCIATION OF GRAND PRAIRIE ARTISTS’ meeting will begin at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 6th  at the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce.

 Program

The presenter Monday is James Behan who always finds ways to give a lift to our creative inclinations.
Behan katabatic
James Behan’s current works are paintings that are non-objective reflections on currents such as water, air and time; as well as photographic images that focus on myth.  He will present his new work and discuss processes related to both painting and photography.  These works reflect “on the instability of being in the here-now, how life flows gently and terribly, a calm stream or turbulent river, without warning or regret.  My art is the residue of processed desire.”

He lives and works in Dallas, Texas, where he earned an MFA in painting from Southern Methodist University.  As a pupil to Bill Komodore, he is part of the artist lineage of Hans Hoffman and Mark Rothko.  In addition to his studio practice, Behan is currently working as Professor of Art for Mountain View College where he serves as the Art Faculty Coordinator and teaches painting, drawing and design.  You can view his some of his work at “behanworks.com”.
