ENCLAVE ECLECTIC 3 showcases local talent: June 1 & 2

Artists Enclave of Denton County announces Enclave Eclectic 3, the nonprofit’s popular pop up art show on Saturday, June 2, Noon to 10:00 p.m., at Downtown Denton’s Studio E, 208 W. Walnut St., 76201. Preview

Enclave Eclectic’s artwork at Studio E Friday, June 1st at the Lost Poet Lounge Shadow Box Poetry event beginning at 8 pm. Enclave Eclectic 3 features two and three-dimensional artworks by a select representation of North Texas’ outstanding established and emerging artists. Painting, drawing, prints, photography, mixed medium and 3D sculptural works await arts enthusiasts.

Come check out the great sounds of live acoustic guitar, jazz, R & B, folk and rock music along with artists’ demonstrations and spoken word. All exhibited works will be for sale that evening with a percentage of the sales benefiting the Artists Enclave. The event is free, open to the public and for all ages. Refer to Artistsenclavedenton.com for a schedule of Saturday’s events. Please note that at present time Studio E is not handicap accessible but Artists Enclave encourages those interested to contact the organization (dentonenclave@gmail.com) for possible accommodations.

Artists Enclave co-chairs, filmmaker Susan Carol Davis of Curious Dog Creative and visual artist Randall Good of Good Studios, promote Enclave Eclectic 3 as a great opportunity for artists to dialogue with arts patrons. “We are drawing upon a wealth of local talent, from students to professional, practicing artists. Visitors to the Eclectic will be treated to a truly diverse cross section of the visual and performance arts here in Denton.”

Day of the Dance Explores Raw Movement and Sound

Texas Woman’s University Department of Dance and Artist Enclave of Denton County present

Day of the Dance Saturday, February 17, 7:00 p.m. at the PointBank Black Box Theatre, 318 East Hickory

Street, Denton. This unique dance concert mixes raw movement and sound for an evening of dance

celebration featuring hip hop, modern dance, hula hooping and more. No reservation or advance ticket sales

required with suggested $5.00 cash donation at the door. 

            Day of the Dance will feature a variety of performers including Tara Baker, a soloist and

choreographer who excites audiences with dance and hula hoop artistry; Marthey Nygaard, whose

choreography utilizes plastic, grotesque movement and distortion with music by local musician Keith

Fleming; the rhythmic and evocative dance work of Jenna Chang featuring hip hop dance and invigorating

unison, and Reyna Mondragon’s duet set to the music of Meredith Monk.
