Call for Artists for pARTy On Crockett- deadline May 22

The Arts Council of Fort Worth & the Fort Worth Community Arts Center are partnering with West7th in a Call for Artists for pARTy On Crockett, a West7th Interactive Art Block Party!

This year the event is June 18, 2016 from 10AM-10PM.

 The FWCAC is looking for at least 40 artists to set up booths along Crockett street. There is an emphasis on each artist including an interactive element, this includes live demos, visitor projects, etc.

Fee and Set-up
The booth fee is $25/booth, payable upon acceptance, $5 application fee.  West7th will provide wifi and electricity
for each artist booth. Artists are responsible for their own booth set-up, booth equipment, and credit card processing system. Booth size is up to 10×10 feet. There will be also be 8  “table” booths in a shaded common area – artists must still provide own table.
Artists will be provided in advance with a load-in schedule between 6AM – 9AM on event day.
Break down will be after 10PM. There will be volunteer assistants to help with load-in and load-out. There will be stages for bands and performers. Attendance is expected to surpass last year’s 3000+ visitors.

The 31st MAIN ST. Fort Worth Arts Festival (MAIN ST.) kicks off April 14 in Downtown Fort Worth, bringing thousands of spectators to experience the sounds, sights and tastes of the #1 ranked arts festival in Texas. Encompassing more than 27 city blocks, MAIN ST. will spotlight 208 jury-selected local and national artists, showcase nearly 140 chart-topping musical groups, offer culinary dishes from across the state, and provide arts-and-crafts activities for the entire family.

In the 1980s, MAIN ST. began as part of an urban revitalization campaign to reawaken the city’s core by showcasing Downtown Fort Worth’s shops and restaurants. Today, MAIN ST. is a multi-faceted festival that transforms downtown into an outdoor gallery and concert stage for four full days, bringing in more than $28 million in economic impact annually. It has been listed as one of the “Top 100 Events in North America” by the American Bus Association (ABA), is a three-time winner of the “Grand Pinnacle” Award from the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA), was named one of the nation’s 10 best art festivals by USA Today in 2015, and snagged Fort Worth, Texas magazine’s “Best of 2015” Reader’s Pick Festival award.

EXPERIENCE MAIN ST.

The prize-winning art will take main stage at the 31st MAIN ST. Of the 1,500 applications received, only 208 artists were selected to exhibit their art. Many of the award-winning artists from the 2015 festival will be exhibiting again in 2016, including Best Of Show-winner Terry Evans (wood), Merit Award-winner David Conn (printmaking), and Juror Award-winner Andrew Carson (sculpture). Mediums include jewelry, digital, mixed-media, leather, fiber, painting, sculpture, drawing/pastels, metalwork, photography, ceramic, wood and glass. By the end of the festival, more than $4.6 million worth of art is expected to be sold. The 2016 MAIN ST. musical lineup is teeming with local, regional and national talent, who will be taking the stage at four different locations in downtown, including the UT Arlington MAIN Stage, Sundance Square Stage, Star-Telegram Performing Arts Stage, and Frost ‘Locals-Only’ Stage. Starting at noon daily, nearly 140 headliners will bring a vast array of musical genres to the festival, ranging from jazz and country to Latin and blues. Headliners include funk-soul-jazz saxophonist Maceo Parker, Afro-Cuban jazz artist Poncho Sanchez, Texas soul singer Luke Wade, Austin-based rock group Band of Heathens, Celtic rockers The Killdares, multimedia troupe Squonk Opera, and many more. The food featured at this year’s MAIN ST. will give festivalgoers a chance to taste authentic Texas cuisine, including brisket sandwiches from Riscky’s BBQ, fajita nachos from Bobby’s Fajitas, Fletcher’s Corn Dogs, grilled chicken satay from Thai Tina’s, Baja Smoothies, gumbo from Crawfish Connection, Bahama Mamas from Schmidt’s German Village, and more. Times Ten Cellars’ “Wine Experience” tasting tent and the “Craft Brew Pavilion,” serving local, national and international craft beers, are also returning in 2016. Free “H20 To Go” water stations, sponsored by the Tarrant Regional Water District, will be positioned throughout the festival, and festivalgoers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to fill up and stay hydrated. “MAIN ST. Creates!,” presented by Wells Fargo, is back for another year to encourage children to embrace their creative side. Anchoring the north end of the festival, the hands-on, arts-and-crafts outdoor art studio will open at 10 a.m. daily and feature balloon designing, fish printing, face painting, mural walls, jewelry designing, sand art, and more. Festivalgoers will find Tarrant County College’s “Young People’s Art Fair” located on the east side of “MAIN ST. Creates!,” where art from more than 200 ambitious young artists will be up for sale. Irving Bicycle Fest call for artists

The City of Irving is looking for artists/artisans that would like to have a booth at our annual Bicycle Fest on Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Booth space, 10 x 10 (includes one 6 foot table and 2 chairs is free). Event will be at North Lake College, 5001 N. MacArthur in Irving.

Booth space is free and includes a 10-foot-by-10-foot space, one 6-foot table and two chairs. Electricity is not provided, and vendors must provide their own tent covers. Space is limited, and application deadline is April 15.

In years past, the city has seen a tremendous outpouring of residents and guests supporting this endeavor and we hope to continue with the tradition. In the heart of the city’s cultural district, the fourth annual Bedford ArtsFest will take place April 2, 2016 at the Bedford Boys Ranch Park. The Bedford ArtsFest is a single-day event that adds vibrancy to mid-cities by creating opportunities for people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds to celebrate the arts of North Texas.

Calls for Entries:

Artists who would like their material to be reviewed and approved by a jury of professional artists, for a chance to win cash prizes please register through CallforEntry.org. The deadline to apply for jury consideration is February 22, 2016. Artists approved by the jury will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell art indoors, in the designated jury selected area.

Artists and Craft vendors interested in exhibiting and selling at the Bedford ArtsFest are welcome to register to be featured in the outdoor Arts Marketplace by completing the application on the website. Art & Wine on the Square in Belton call for artists

The 4th Annual Art & Wine on the Square around the historic Bell County Courthouse Square following the turtle will be held in the afternoon of April 30th the day of the 9th Annual Turtle Festival in Belton.

Stall areas are available for you to display and sale your artworks around the Courthouse Square. The cost of a 10’ by 12’ area is $35.00.  A few 10’ by 20’ areas are also available.

CLUTE – The Center for the Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce that the 2016 Texas Gulf Coast Arts Festival  will take place Friday, May 13 thru Sunday, May 15. After a successful launch last spring, the festival will return featuring many professional artists from near and far. Kids’ hands on art activities, live music, and great food will be available to people of all ages to enjoy.

     Something new for 2016 will be a Friday Night Art Stroll from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. This added festival event will feature an early preview of the art and an opportunity to visit with artists under the stars. Live music, drinks, and specialty food stations will enhance the “date night” atmosphere. Tickets for the Art Stroll will be $25. Food and drinks will be available.

     ATTENTION ARTISTS: Applications for jury review are now open on Zapplication.org. Booths space will be available inside and outside. All outside booths will be covered with a pitch-top canopy covering both artist booths and shopping walkways. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2016. Artist amenities and services were rated “Awesome” by the 2015 Artists. Free parking, refreshments, booth sitter for short breaks, plus fast response to any concern or request.

     “This is going to be a festival of the arts that everyone can enjoy,” said The Center’s Executive Director, Wesley Copeland. “Families, young professionals, college students, Baby Boomers…everyone is welcome and will find interesting things to do. What better reason to get outside and have a great time?”

     Development and Marketing Director, Patty Swords stated, “Our goal is to provide the community and visiting tourists with a fun arts and cultural event. We are committed to establishing something special, which will become a celebrated annual event. Sponsors will have an opportunity to support The Center and the community while getting their name in front of thousands of people.”

The festival will feature high quality art in a variety of mediums. Paintings, drawings, woodworking, sculpture, glass, photography, jewelry, and more will be available for purchase in a range of prices. Artists must submit an application and digital photos by January 15, 2016 through zapplication.org for jury review.

     Along with a wide range of music, the festival will offer a variety of options for food and beverages. Festival hours are: Friday Night Art Stroll, 5pm – 10pm; Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Proceeds from the Texas Gulf Coast Arts Festival will benefit The Center, a 501(C) 3 nonprofit organization. Admission Saturday and Sunday is $5 for adults and kids twelve and under will get in free.  Sponsorships are now available.

North Texas MADE announces their holiday show, The Cowtown Indie Bazaar, scheduled for December 12, 2015, 11 am to 5pm at the Roundup Inn, Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall at Will Rogers Memorial Center, 3400 Burnett-Tandy Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76107.

Cowtown Indie Bazaar will feature handcrafted goods from indie makers from all across North Texas. are partnering with West7th 
in a Call for Artists for
 pARTy On Crockett, 
a West7th Interactive Art Block Party!
The event is June 20, 2015 from 6-10PM.
Crockett Street will be closed off to traffic for this event.
Bands will perform on event stages throughout the evening.
Attendance is expected to surpass last year’s 3000+ visitors.
The FWCAC is looking for at least 20 local artists to set up booths along Crockett street. There is an emphasis on each artist including an interactive element, this includes live demos, visitor projects, etc.
Artists are free to sell their artwork, and may charge for interactive projects planned for the public in their booth.
Fee and Set-up
 
The booth fee is $25/booth.  West7th will provide wifi and electricity for each artist booth. Artists are responsible for their own booth set-up/ break down, booth equipment, and credit card processing system. Booth size is up to 10×10 feet. Artists may begin setting up as early as 9AM and no later than 4PM, as the official event starts at 6PM. Break down will be after 10PM.
Deadline to apply is Thursday June 4, 2015. Space is limited. Please email art7gallery@artscouncilfw.org if you are interested in participating this year, and include 3-5 images of artwork you intend to show, and your idea for the interactive portion of your booth.
