Equal consideration will be given to emerging and established artists alike, so dream big!
Ultimately, ART7 wants to showcase the creation process from conception to communal collaboration to the finished product. Art is an evolution that takes time, and more than anything, we want to expose the community to that process. This is the time to have a meaningful and multi-layered cultural exchange between people of all manners.

Independent curator and arts writer Annette DiMeo Carlozzi, recently retired from the Blanton Museum of Art at UT-Austin, will give a juror’s talk on her selections for the Art in the Metroplex exhibit. Awards will be announced. FREE.

Open to all artists! 
The FWCAC announces an open call for entries: 2016 9 x 12 Works on Paper Show December 2-27, 2016.  Artworks on or of paper or paper products may be any size, but MUST fit in a 9 x 12 envelope; folded, 3D or multi-part OK.  Unmatted, unframed photography, drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media, cast or folded paper or digital prints OK (other materials attached-OK). Original artworks only; no reproductions.  Put artist’s name, address, title & date of work and medium on back. No entry form. Open to all artists – no age or geographical restrictions. All artwork is shown – no jury. Entry fee is $5US/piece; 6 entries max.  Postmark deadline November 15, 2016.  All artwork for sale for $100US; artist gets 75%.  Unsold works with SASE will be mailed by Jan 31. ART7 and the FWCAC announce an open call to all TAC members for a Small Works Exhibit at ART7, November 12 – January 2, 2016. LOCATION OF ART7: 820 Currie, 76107.
Works must be professionally presented (framed or finished edges and install-ready). FINISHED WORK MAY BE NO LARGER THAN 15 INCHES including framing.
 2D and 3D welcome; 3D must supply pedestal if needed. $25 for up to three works. First-come, first-hung until we run out of room.

Fill out the form so that we have label information. Prepaid have guaranteed space.
Life Drawing with Carol Ivey at the Arts Center
Saturday mornings, October 15 – November 19, 2016
9:30am – 12:30pm

6 sessions
$225 model fee included
This class is aimed at the beginning and intermediate level. Emphasis will be on
developing and engaging visual perception to see the human form in terms of
unique configuration. Participants learn and practice exercises in gesture,
contour, shape, proportion, value, and expression. Some structure and anatomy
will be presented. Poses vary in length from the quick study to the more finished
drawing. All work is done from the live unclothed model.

Fort Worth Community Arts Center Hours:  M-SAT 9AM – 5PM

The Fort Worth Community Arts Center, a City-owned facility, was established in October 2002
by the Fort Worth City Council. The Arts Council of Fort Worth & Tarrant County manages the Arts Center.
The FWCAC includes two theatres; nine art galleries; office space for arts organizations and public areas

Critical Writing in the Visual Arts

To accompany the Selections exhibition, FWADA is pleased to host a panel discussion on July 19th at 7pm at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Moderated by artist, curator and writer Christopher Blay, speakers will focus on critical writing in visual arts and consider how and why new art writing should be encouraged in Dallas-Fort Worth. Our celebrated panelists for the evening include Frances Colpitt, Rachel Cook and Scott Gleeson. The panel discussion is free and open to all. No reservations required. WEBSITE

9 x 12 Works on Paper Show; 10th Anniversary
This exhibit features almost 400 small works of art available for $100, from artists all over the US and the world. All of the art is on paper or made from paper products. This includes painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, collage, digital art, books and paper sculpture. The art must fit in a 9 x 12 envelope, but can be any size. The first 25 purchases will include a coupon for 50% off
framing at Aaron Brothers.

TAC Small Works Show
Members of the Texas Artists Coalition, the artist membership group of the FWCAC, exhibit artworks under 15″ in all media for sale at ART7, 820 Currie Street in Fort Worth. These works are ready to hang and reasonably priced! ART7 is open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 4 – 8pm and Saturday 1 – 8pm.
Note that this is a new location! Parking is free at W7th with validation at ART7.

Friday, December 4, 2015 Canned Food Drive
One of 6 people of all ages struggles with food insecurity and/or hunger, and one in four children come from families that live with uncertainty about where their next meal will come from. The faces of hunger in Tarrant Area Food Bank’s 13-county service region are Caucasian, Hispanic, African-American, Asian and Native American. They may be your neighbors or your work colleague. He or she may be the child in school sitting next to your son or daughter. TAFB serves more than 50,000 individuals in a typical week and more than 53,000 households in a typical month. In one year, 146,000 households are served.
The Arts Center will be collecting food items and checks to donate to the Tarrant Area Food Bank during the Artist Reception on Friday, December 4 from 6-9pm.
Friday, December 4, 2015 Artist Receptions at the Arts Center
Receptions for all the galleries – plus, consider giving ART for gifts this year! All 9 x 12 artwork is only $100. The first 25 people to buy a 9 x 12 piece of art get a coupon for 50% off a frame, including custom framing, at Aaron Bros on I–30 at Chapel Hill. Folding Books: Accordion Artists’ Book Workshop Workshop
December 12, 2015, 10 – 2pm
Join us for a special workshop hosted by WoCA Projects and the Texas Artist Coalition (TAC) in connection with the 3rd Annual Juried Artists’ Books Exhibition. This exciting workshop will teach participants the art of creating accordion-style artists’ books, including basic watercolor painting techniques and associated papers. All materials will be provided, no prior art-making experience required.
Cost: $10/per person $5 for TAC members.

TAC Life Drawing
December 8, 15, 22, 29; 9am – noon

A model will be available for a 3 – hour session. Artists will need to bring their own art supplies; easels and chairs provided. No instruction will be offered. Cost is $50 for 5 sessions or $15 per session for TAC members, $75 for 5 sessions or $20 per session for public.
