At 2:00 pm, there will be a panel discussion by the artists and curator, moderated by gallery director John Hartley. The reception and panel discussion are free and open to the public. This exhibition runs through Sunday, February 25, 2018.

Centering Abstraction features the work of contemporary artists Lael Burns, Sophia Ceballos, Gwen Meharg and Adam Palmer. The artists work in a variety of media with vibrant color, but drawing is at the core of their practice. Layering of media is also utilized in many of the artworks. In the context of this exhibition, the artists have used abstraction as a centering device with which they have given voice to their varied artistic expressions.
