Abstract Painting Class

robert moore

This fun class is for beginners to advanced painters as we explore ~ abstract concepts, color theory, composition principles, expressive techniques, and textural applications. We’ll uncover your innate painting style ~ from meditative to contemplative or gestural to physical ~ minimal palette, crazy with color, or somewhere in between. You’ll learn to paint with confidence ~ as abstract or realistic as you like. We’ll look at Matisse and Picasso and their influence on Cubism and Expressionism, and the changes and growth in abstract art. We’ll explore materials, tools, demonstrating techniques, and use of line, color and shape to compose paintings of power and energy. We may use oil, acrylic, watercolor, collage, and pastel.
