The IAA Members Art Experience Sept. 26

The September 26th Irving Art Association Members Meeting will feature 3 different HANDS-ON ART EXPERIENCES! We’ll be doing:

  • Acrylic Pours with Linda Wood Shotwell
  • Working with Stencils with Sharon Giles
  • Nail Polish Gems with Patsy Davila.

Doors open at 6:30 pm and the Meeting starts at 7:00 pm at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts in Irving.  DirectionsWarning: wear grunge clothes and/or bring your aprons.

Artists, don’t forget to bring your entry for the Artist of the Month competition. We will also have a Silent Auction of art supplies.

Everyone participating in this meeting will have the opportunity to make their own 3 x 3 inch acrylic pour.Acrylic pours are one of the hottest paint experiences right now and you will love doing it. Take what you learn home with you and make a larger piece at home.
Come explore the expanding use of stencils and masks in artwork. It’s not just pouncing up and down with a stiff stencil brush anymore.Sharon will introduce you to brayers, sprays, stamping, sponges, pan pastel, even baby wipes and more!
But wait, that’s not all!!!! Patsy will show you how to create lovely gemstones just using nail polish.She’ll have supplies but you can bring your favorite polish.

OPEN ART NIGHT Exhibit Reception March 15

Open Art Night derives its name from the arts and crafts group sponsored by the Irving Art Association that meets twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Friday evenings at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts. The group is free to join and participate in — contact openartnight@irvingart.org. Members of the group take turns in leading group projects, but artists may actually work on any project they wish to.

This is the first showing by the group of some past projects. The exhibit is on view March 1 – April 9, 2015 at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts. directions You are invited to the Reception on Sunday, March 15 from 2-4pm.
