CentralTrak is proud to present an international collaboration: a hard place.

Please join us this Saturday August 19 at the 500X Gallery,
located at 500 Exposition Ave Dallas TX 75208.
We will be hosting a reception for the artists from 7-10pm.

a hard place is

an exhibition of international artists addressing and responding to Brutalist Architecture; a dominant post war architecturalmovement embodying concepts of utilitarianism and Utopian aspiration.

a hard place is curated by Gundula Schmitz (Laura Mars Gallery) and Gary Farrelly; and features artists Chris Dreier (DE), Christine Weber (DE), Cunningham Architects (TX), Dirk Krecker (DE), EVOL (DE), Gary Farrelly (IRE/BE), Julia Zinnbauer (DE), Laure Catugier (DE/FR), Matias Bechtold (DE), Oisin Byrne (IRE/UK), Pádraic E. Moore (IRE/BE), ScAle Architects (IT) and Tannhäuser Tor (Alekos Hofstetter (DE) & Florian Göpfert (DE).

ART7 invites you to view the first group exhibition of 2016, titleArchitectural Influence. Works in this show focus on architectural elements of urban spaces, construction, building materials, and design. Many of the artists in this show have an architectural academic background, or experience working in the field, which is evident as a direct influence in his or her work. ART7 will also be presenting the gallery’s first site specific, interactive, sound and video installation by artist James Talambas.
Architectural Influence is the first of five themed exhibitions curated from a pool of artists who were accepted after applying to the ART7’s 2016 Regional Juried Call for Artists, juried by guest juror, Nancy Lamb.
All participating artists are from Texas.
