ArtGroupsDFW welcomes a new resource for artists and art lovers to the DFW art scene.
"THE MAGAZINE DFW is a visually oriented, free monthly periodical with a focus on the contemporary visual and performing arts scene in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area. We feature articles, interviews, and reviews on the visual and performing arts, books, music, and cultural commentary. Our page design is elegant and sophisticated, with large-format layouts for art, photography, and mixed-media work. Interviews with local and visiting artists–both emerging and established–museum curators, artistic directors, gallery directors, collectors, and others involved in various aspects of the arts grace our pages. Our primary contributors are artists and writers living and working in the area.
"UNIVERSE OF :: In every issue we run one feature story on an emerging artist in our market and one feature story on an established artist.
"FEATURES :: We provide in-depth coverage of the Dallas/Fort Worth art scene from exclusive interviews with contemporary artists and performers, collectors, artistic directors, and curators to the most important curatorial work happening in DFW.
"Previews :: We cover DFW gallery, museum, performing arts, art center, educational, and DIY activities reporting extensively on what’s coming up in the contemporary art scene.
"CRITICAL REFLECTIONS :: We share with readers–no holds barred–what we think is going on in the contemporary art scene around the Metroplex. " –from the About page on the website
The magazine is published by Santa Fe Publishing Group, Inc. Local offices are in the Bishop Arts District in Dallas. THE is distributed free in art venues, but you can also subscribe to the print magazine.
The companion website, THEMAGDFW.com, is easy to use and informative. Although it doesn’t include the feature articles, it does have other features:

- Galleries, Museums & Art Centers (listing by geographic area)
ArtGroupsDFW will add reference links to these features in our guides as part of our mission to promote the visual arts in North Texas.
