Art Calendars for 2010 — Make Yours Local!

‘Tis that time of the year – new art calendars are being published for 2010.  Before you purchase yet another Impressionist calendar, consider first the local productions that support local charities or art associations:

Irving Art Association has published  its 2nd annual calendar with 13 reproductions of artwork by IAA members. The price is only $12 for a standard-size calendar (full color on 8&1/2″ x 11″ size cardstock which opens to a 11″ x 17″ format). To purchase or see more artwork, see the IAA website or email

Trinity Arts Guild is not doing one this year but is planning one for it’s 50th Anniversary in 2011. There will be a juried artists’ competition in April. website:

Visual Arts Society of Texas (VAST) offers a desktop calendar in a jewel case and sells for $10 including tax. The 2010 version was juried by Laurie Weller and includes 12 VAST artists. To obtain, call Jo Williams @ 940.383.1092 or email at  website:

CityArtCal produces a calendar engagement book — 100 local artists are included in a 128 page, tabbed desk art calendar. One hundred color plates – each artist has his own page and there is an artist directory included. It retails locally for 19.95 at a number of retail stores: the DMA, MAC, Muse Bookstore, A Paper Affair, Chocolate Secrets, etc. and we give thousands to local art students – junior college and senior high school students to encourage them to pursue their artistic visions.
