We are proud to announce Jill Pankey as our juror for the 28th Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Competition.
Jill Pankey is currently a Senior Lecturer at Texas State University – San Marcos. During the past twenty years, Jill established herself as an artist in Austin, San Antonio and in South Texas, particularly in the Coastal Bend area. Jill Pankey holds a Masters of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. While at Corpus she concentrated her efforts in painting, drawing, watercolor, pencil, pen & ink and pastels. In 2002, Jill completed a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas-San Antonio. She has also received meritorious awards from state and local art organizations for her art works. Her works of art have been inspired by figurative photographers such as Lois Greenfield and Howard Schatz and painters such as Robert Heindel, Jenny Saville, Xenia Housner and Paul Wright.

A special commissioned Biennial artist project will be presented by Ballroom Marfa. In celebration of the Biennial’s 5th anniversary, Lawndale Art Center in Houston and Big Medium in Austin will also host exhibitions of current work by selected past Biennial artists, August 23 – September 28, 2013.
