Fall ArtsGoggle Registration deadline Sept. 1st

Saturday, October 10, 2015 – 12pm to 10pm

Join us as we celebrate the 12th anniversary of ArtsGoggle,
the Near Southside’s most beloved community arts event.

ArtsGoggle is a free, family-friendly event that attracts crowds as diverse as the neighborhood itself with live music, artistic displays of every kind, food, drink, and fun for everyone. Join us as we highlight and celebrate local artists.

Painters, photographers, woodworkers, weavers, printmakers, sculptors, potters, jewelers, illustrators and artists of all mediums PLEASE REGISTER TODAY!  It’s only $25 to register for ArtsGoggle and there are no additional participation fees.

This includes tents, tables, chairs, lights, hanging surfaces, etc. We do not provide tents, table or chairs to artists.  You will be responsible for bringing your own lighting and extension cords as well.

OUTDOOR ARTISTS will be assigned a space measuring 10′ x 10′, the size of a standard pop-up tent.  Artists participating in our outdoor block parties at Park Place Avenue and outdoor on Magnolia Avenue will be provided access to electricity to use for ONE LIGHT PER TENT.  Artists needing additional electricity will need to contact Megan Henderson, megan@fortworthsouth.org, to discuss.   We have found that outdoor artists receive the greatest amount of traffic to their booths and strongly encourage all artists to consider an outdoor space, as indoor space is very limited.

INDOOR ARTISTS Artists requesting indoor space will be assigned to an ‘ArtsGoggle Venue’. Venues are Near Southside businesses, their services ranging from restaurants to law offices, that have registered with ArtsGoggle and requested to host an artist/s.  These businesses will often go to great lengths to accommodate your presence.  If you are requesting indoor space, please submit your application today with as much information as possible regarding the amount of space you need.  If you require wall space, table space, or other special needs please provide that information in your application.  We will contact you after venue registration closes with an assigned venue.  After you have been assigned to a venue, it is the artists responsibility to reach out to the venue to coordinate all of the details regarding your ArtsGoggle needs.  We will provide venue contact information for your use.

There is no minimum or maximum for the number of works shown.  Please use good judgement in providing enough artwork to have a strong presence but not so much that it overwhelms our venues or patrons.  Simply put, ArtsGoggle only allows for the sale of original art.  Please do not apply if you are selling factory-made or mass produced items.

Due to construction, South Main Village will not participate in ArtsGoggle this year. We look forward to their return next year as they welcome a newly redesigned S. Main Street.
Park Place Village embraces an exciting twist on the traditional artist block party.  Instead of lining the street with artists tents, they’ll be filling the it with the art of classic cars.  Enjoy a classic car show and street festival on Park Place Avenue.  Artists who specialize in automobilia or use car parts in their art are strongly encouraged to apply to participate at Park Place Village.

Last year we broke the record!  ArtsGoggle hosted more than 350 participating artists, 8,000 patrons and 100 bands at our 2014 event so this year we are preparing to close Magnolia Avenue to car traffic (from 8th Avenue to Hemphill Street) and placing all outdoor artists booths on the street. More information about this coming soon.  Please assume that if you are registering as an outdoor artist on Magnolia Avenue you will be participating in our large outdoor artist block party unless you otherwise request a specific venue.

In addition, we are now accepting applications for performing arts entertainers and musicians. We are proud to announce that Panther City Exchange will be booking and coordinating all of our ArtsGoggle entertainment this fall.

ArtsGoggle “Venues” are Near Southside businesses located along Magnolia Avenue or Park Place Avenue that are willing to host art and/or music for a one-day open house.  Venues must stay open to the public during the full event hours, Noon to 10pm.  We require that the venues host the artists free of charge and make all necessary accommodations to transform their space into a one-day gallery or music venue.  ALL VENUES WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE MUST REGISTER ONLINE. Venues that are members of Fort Worth South, Inc. are allow to participate FREE OF CHARGE. Non-members may participate by paying a $100.00 venue registration fee.  By participating, you will receive an ArtsGoggle banner and will be listed in the event program, posters, and promotions. We rely upon our venue partners to help promote ArtsGoggle, so by signing up as a venue you are also agreeing to promote your participation in the event.

Last year’s extended hours of Noon to 10pm offered patrons more time to experience all that ArtsGoggle had to offer.  This year we are excited to continue these extended hours to allow greater sales opportunities for our artists and a more relaxed and enjoyable experience for our ArtsGoggle patrons.

Each year as ArtsGoggle grows, so do the operating costs of the event.  In order to produce an even higher quality event with the same great neighborhood experience, there is a
$25 registration fee for artists.  The money collected provides vital funding to support improved communications, pre-event promotions, programs, signage and more.
