Exhibition and art instruction space in Irving — artist opportunity

The Irving Art Association is planning its schedule for 2013 and needs exhibitors for its gallery space. The IAA’s gallery is located in the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts, 1975 Puritan Rd. in Irving, Texas (not to be confused with the Irving Arts Center on MacArthur). The facility has two galleries, the smaller of which is devoted to member exhibitions (free to members). Current opportunities for area artists in the large gallery: 2013: Jan, March, June and November.

Space for workshops (up to 20 students) in the large or small galleries may be reserved by artists — there are openings in Fall 2012 and beyond. IAA will also schedule workshops given by other nonprofit art associations. Artists may also offer weekly art classes on Sunday afternoons, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

IAA is committed to supporting year-round art appreciation and educational opportunities. The schedule includes 22 gallery exhibits, professional artist demonstrations at eight membership meetings from September through May, and over twenty workshops by professional artists. Membership is $30/year. Members receive discounts on most IAA activities, as well as 20% off at Asel Art Supply and Googly Eyes Crafts. website: www.irvingart.org

Make your reservation by August 20th to ensure availability for desired dates. For more details, including reasonable booking fees, contact VE, IAA Scheduling Chair, by email at vicepresident@irvingart.org.
