About EASL

Visual artists often live within narrow financial constraints, even in the best of times. A medical crisis, fire, or other emergency can result in catastrophe. In response, artists and arts professionals joined together to found EASL in 1992. EASL is operated by a volunteer committee, allowing for maximum funds to be distributed to individuals in need. In addition to awarding monetary grants, EASL can offer referrals to a variety of professionals, from social workers to attorneys, who volunteer their time and expertise to help artists in other ways. Though visible when it is raising money, EASL abides by a strict policy of confidentiality regarding disbursal of funds, thereby protecting artists’ anonymity and dignity.

Become an “Accomplice” by completing the online registration form.  All artists must take this first step in order to be included in the program and to be added to the list of donating artists on the website.

DROP OFF DATES for donated artwork are:

Saturday, April 7 through Wednesday, April 18 Prepare your work for delivery:

Identify your art with your name, title and mediumclearly on the back (2-D) or the bottom (3-D) of your art work.  Also mark your name on the outside wrapping of your art.

All 2-D artwork must have wire attached to canvas or framing and be ready to hang. Be sure to wrap your artwork so it does not get damaged in transportation from the drop-off locations to BRIT.

Pack, cushion and secure 3-D artwork into an open box for protection and ease of handling (it’s good for the art handler to be able to see the object).  These materials will be saved for re-packing for the “Smugger” and “Thief” patrons to carry away.
