City of Wylie Call for Artists: Olde City Park Mural and Community Park Project

City of Wylie Public Art Project: Community Park
The Public Arts Advisory Board of the City of Wylie, Texas, seeks to commission an original art work functionally, philosophically, and artistically integrated with our recently renovated Community Park.  The commissioned piece(s) will serve as a focal point to the entrance to the baseball fields and concession area and become a part of our growing and recognized public art program. 

This park will include four rehabilitated and lighted baseball fields, hike and bike trails, a concession stand and restroom, and additional parking. The park is constructed on 39 acres which are used for public sports and gatherings. The facilities will provide sports fields, recreation and public open space. 

This project is open to all professional artists located within a 300 mile radius of Wylie (zipcode 75098), a suburb of Dallas, TX.  Submissions are due by 5pm, Central Time (not post marked) April 6, 2012.

City of Wylie Public Art Project:  Olde City Park Mural
The Public Arts Advisory Board of the City of Wylie, Texas, seeks to commission an original art mural to work functionally, philosophically, and artistically with the space in and around Wylie’s Historic Downtown area.  This mural will be painted on an existing 12 feet by 60 feet long wall facing Olde City Park. The park is the entrance to the historic downtown area with buildings dating back to the early 1900’s.  The City has much rich history and will celebrate its 125th year of incorporation in 2012. 

This project is open to all professional artists located within a 300 mile radius of Wylie (zip code 75098), a suburb of Dallas, TX.  Submissions are due by 5pm, Central Time (not post marked) April 16, 2012.
