For 13 years certain artists in the Plano and surrounding art community have hosted a tour of their studios each November. This year, PAA has been offered the opportunity to take on this highly successful event and open it up to our members.
It is a two-day event, scheduled for November 4th and 5th, just in time for holiday gift-giving purchases of art. Participation would mean opening your studio to a tour of art patrons who love to see artists’ studios, their work environment and their art work close up. It is a great opportunity to sell some of your work. It will be promoted in local media and a special website will present your work and help guide people to your studio.
Your studio needs to be located in Plano or nearby. If you don’t have a studio suitable for placing on the tour, PAA has alternative locations for you too to participate in the Art Market part of the promotion.
The upstairs studios at the ArtCenter will be availablefor a few artists to host tour visitors and show some of your work. You can also be working on artwork during the tour if you choose. This will be available on a first-come reservation basis.
The second venue for the Art Market will be at AramArt, which is where the PAA Thursday
Night Live sessions are held. There is
room for up to six artists to show and tell their work in this venue…located in a neighborhood near Custer and Parker Road. This, too will be available on a first-come reservation basis.
Here’s what goes along with participating:
* Your own page on a special promotional website with images of your work, a map to your location, your bio, link to your main website. (Art Market-only participants will all be listed together on a single page for the group location venue.)
* A free yard sign showing your participation on the tour.(Add yellow balloons to make location more visible)
* Your info will be listed and linked in multiple email blasts to PAA followers
* Access to link the special site to your own promotion to friends and neighbors and your email database
* Extensive press release coverage in area media, online, print and broadcast
* Participation in a pre-event gathering at PAA Offices at Rail Station
Studios (1013 15th Place #101, Historic Downtown Plano, Texas 75074) on the Friday evening before the Saturday–Sunday event; potluck dinner where you can meet the other artists on the tour, see samples of their work and plan networking for the weekend event.
A fee is required to participate. It will cover web programming and marketing materials. Studios on the tour will be billed $90 for the two-day event. Art Market participants will be billed $45 for the two-day event. A document will be provided to you to help guide you through preparation and execution of your event.
Deadline for signing up to be part of the tour is extended to Tuesday, October 11.
