Call for artists - The Peace Project Show (opens in Dallas 9/22) Deadline - 8/31/2012 - Link for registration below
Dallas arts organization 29 Pieces (Monumental Change through Monumental Art) is pleased to be collaborating with this global effort this year, and invites Dallas-area artists to join us, and to compete for some great prizes at the same time.

Over the past two years, artists from around the world have submitted their vision of peace and helped create incredible change through The Peace Project.  On World Peace Day, 2011, The Peace Project led Operation Rise, and distributed 10,000 pairs of crutches across Sierra Leone, Africa, instantly changing the lives of thousands of amputees, war victims, women and children.  This effort was funded, in part, by The Peace Project’s Annual Call-for-Artists, proving that art truly does change the world.

This year,  the 29 Pieces offices and gallery (124 N Peak St. in Dallas) will be the first venue for the Peace Project Show, during the Deep Ellum Art Walk on September 22. 29 Pieces has taken it's art-based lessons on nonviolence and human rights to 16 Dallas schools since 2007 and plans to double our outreach next year, with your help!

The Peace Project’s 3rd Annual Call for Artists is now open and artists from around the world are invited to submit their visions of what “makes peace”.  Once again, the funds raised will be used for something truly amazing -- to create the first Peace Center in Sierra Leone, Africa, which will heal and empower people through skills training and arts and cultural programming.

Visit www.thewhole9.com/thepeaceproject before August 31st and submit your vision now!

We want to have a strong showing of Dallas artists in this show, and have reserved some space for them, so please forward this call to any area artists you know!
