The Japanese invented Suminagashi marbling technique, which means “ink floating” or “spilled ink” and in t. The papers created may be used for scrapbooking, greeting cards, collage, journaling, stationary, decoupage, endpapers, bookmarks, paper crafts, marbled mats, backgrounds for painting, stamping, calligraphy or poetry — or the beautiful papers can just be matted and framed as art.
