The Art Hotel Gallery presents Conversations an art exhibit featuring 16 diverse artists from The Art Hotel Collective paired with younger up and coming artists. Art becomes the conduit for bridging the gap between generations. Conversations features an exciting artistic dialogue and provides insight into creativity and the universal language of art.

The co-op artists selected artwork from students at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Keller High School, Lake Highlands High School and the Shelton School. The professional artist’s visual response to the student’s work is a fascinating exchange of colors, symbols, iconography, styles and design. In the end viewers will attach their own meaning to the work.

Artists represented in this show are Carol Blanchard Parks, Jacque Forsher, Johanna Roffino Hulsey, Karen Jacobi, Melissa Wertz, Michelle Stroescu, Marilee Vergati-Haynes, Rachel Garay Kolb, Rita Barnard, Sharon Neel Bagley and Sherry Houpt. Students participating in Conversations are Abi Hernandez, Ally Hulsey, Anya Bosworth, Bunny Trahan, Cara Latimer, Elizabeth Housewright, Ellen Manning, Geovanna Cuevas, Kaity Reaves, and Tori Baker.

The Art Hotel Collective began in September 2011 and currently has 15 members. Gallery owner Johanna Roffino-Hulsey wanted to use her large space in the historic Cedars Art District as a way to showcase local artists. After discussing her idea with fellow artists the collective was born. Their mission is to bring original local art to the community through creative gallery events and artist-led workshops.
