May 9th Demo Artist: Cindy Shepard "Stash and Smash"
Use Your Stash ... Be Creative ... Have Fun! Turn Everyday Objects from Life into Art Journals!
Recycling moves from philosophy to fine art when placed in the talented hands of Cindy Shepard.

“My love of old stuff has led to a lifetime of collecting books, magazines, travel journals, newspapers, gift wrap, rusty nails, metal bits, keys, napkins, junk mail. . . I hate to let anything go to waste. Ten years ago I found myself drowning in stuff so I decided to stop preserving history and begin sharing it. Instead of copying images from old books, I tore out the originals. My art ac- quired a beautiful authenticity. When I challenged myself to create art solely from recycled materials, my collection became a precious useable resource.”
Cindy’s sculptural experiences have won awards. She has sold many works in galleries. You can more art in her book, Bottle Art, published by Design Originals. Cindy’s demonstration today will be from her book, Stash and Smash.
