The members meeting of the Irving Art Assocation will be on Tuesday, April 24th at 7 pm at the Jaycee Park Center for the Arts in Irving. (directions)
The artist VET will give a brief overview on how to paint big and small murals using basic theme development, design layout and paint applicaitons on various surfaces. She will discussion the use of stencils, grids and projections to transfer images. VET will also advise on how to get funding for proposals and projects. VET is a native Texas artist who incorporates environmental recycling awareness through her artwork, commissions, classes and workshops. She introduces the fine art of recycling through innovative assemblages, reliefs and sculptures that offer practical solutions to reduce reuse and recycle. Her Found Objects Studio is in the Deep Ellum Arts District where she creates and teaches innovative ways to re-think, re-purpose and re-design discarded items. In addition to her wide variety of cultural-based and educational arts programs, VET tours nationally and regionally offering classes, workshops and other customized programming. She is a graduate of the University of Texas Dallas (BA Arts and Performance). VET's wor has been on exhibit throughout the U.S, Canada and Africa; andd she is both a National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) andd Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) receipient.
