MARCH 7TH, 8TH, 9TH, 2011.
A 3-day plein air workshop with award winning artist, JILL CARVER of Austin, Texas.

In January 2009 the editors of Southwest Art Magazine named Jill Carver as one of ten artists to watch. This year she was invited as a 'guest artist' to participate in the prestigious Maynard Dixon Country event in Mount Carmel, Utah. She is nationally recognized and has won awards for her work in juried shows to include: Laguna Beach Invitational 2009, Telluride Plein Air 2009, Salon International 2009, Sedona Plein Air Festival 2009, San Luis Obispo 2008, and 2009 Plein Air Easton. The Art Academy Museum of Easton, MD, has purchased two of her paintings for its permanent collection.

Her paintings have immediate visual impact. The canvases read well from a distance; then close up they dissolve into a series of brush-strokes clearly and confidently rendered.

This oil painting workshop is for "advanced beginners" (students with some plein air painting experience), intermediate and advanced students. The group will paint in downtown Waxahachie, focusing on buildings and structures. If you’ve been struggling (or avoiding altogether!) with architecture in your composition, do not miss this workshop!!! The maximum number of students is 12 – this workshop will fill quickly!

Ellis County Art Association Fine Art Center, 501 West Main St., Waxahachie, Texas. For more information and registration form visit: or email - subject line: Jill Carver Workshop.
