La Reunion TX has a very generous matching gift from a long time donor on the table for $6000.  We are thrilled to be able to say by the end of the summer we could potentially have $12,000 as a result.  If you haven't made a gift in a while, please consider this opportunity to match dollar for dollar what we offer art and artists in our community.

    Here's what we do:

    1.  Art Chicas in the Fall.  Adult professional women artists have the opportunity to create new work.  We put together a work crew of apprentices comprised of teenage girls who work side by side with her.  To be her hands, feet and help for the new piece.

    2.  Environmental Art Program.  These are periodic site specific works are created on site using found and natural materials. Artists have the opportunity to work large and outdoors in our outdoor studio and gallery in Oak Cliff.

    3.  Found Object Art.  Working with DISD high school students and the Nasher Sculpture Center, we simultaneously educate students about ecology, outdoor art and community service.  The Nasher guides the creation of new work using found and natural materials from our Oak Cliff site. With thrilling results!

    4.  Residency.  No question our mission is about creating a residency: a live/work space for visiting artists to experience, mix in and participate with Dallas.  But also a time of respite, freshness and exploration. We are on that journey and to date have asked the international and local community through Make Space for Art and Make Space for Artists for guidance.  We are narrowed onto a path and with any luck we'll be operational in this capacity this time next year.

This is what we're in the community doing. We support artists, the creation of new work and the opportunity to dialogue with the community.  Many thanks in advance for your matching gift. website: lareuniontx.org

Photopolus is calling all artists and inviting you to apply to exhibit and sell your work in our new monthly outdoor art installation at the amazing, soon to be opened, NOVA.

We are pleased to partner with the team at NOVA to present a fantastic monthly exhibit showcasing local art and music. The very first CRAVE Art and Music Festival will coincide with the 2nd Annual Oak Cliff Art Crawl! As many of you may remember, the first OCAC was a huge success and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever. We are happy to announce that CRAVE Art&Music Festival will occur every 2nd Sunday beginning April 11th, 2010.

We are accepting submissions from all artists, inviting musicians to apply to the fest and also accepting applications from select art vendors.

More than anything else, we are excited about this opportunity to celebrate our creative community on a regular basis and are very much looking forward to seeing you at the first show.

    Artists:

The submission format has changed from last year's OCAC. We will be featuring a monthly juried exhibition and outdoor installation. Your $25 submission fee allows you to present for consideration to the CRAVE jury up to three pieces / jpgs of your original work that you either presently have ready to show or plan to build out for the festival. Our jury reviews all work anonymously. That's right, our jurors won't have a clue whose work they are reviewing. All mediums are accepted. Since this is a monthly exhibit, we will be accepting submissions through June 15, 2010. However, the sooner you submit, the sooner you could potentially showcase your work so don't wait!

    Submit your applications here:
    http://photopol.us/2010/02/08/calling-all-artists-oak-cliff-art-crawl-2-is-here-and-so-is-crave/
All entries must include 1 to 3 jpgs at least 640 pixels wide.
