Justine Wollaston’s Artist Statement:

“I believe art has the capacity to inspire us, stimulate our minds and our hearts, and connect us to our humanity. When I create a portrait of a beloved individual I strive to capture the character of the subject. When I indulge my own ideas, I create art that seeks to understand who I am, questions ideas and fantasizes a different paradigm, and expresses the pure happiness and awe I have in my own existence. I feel public art should relate to the community, and stretch the perceptions and imaginations of the individuals who live there. Art is the universal language. It has always been and will always be the element essential to our ability to express ourselves and understand each other.”
