Learn new skills at Mixed-Media Mania on Monday, Oct. 27!Felted pin, Dior roses, Boo-Ya Halloween pin, Duck tape bracelets
IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN — time for an evening of Mixed Media Mania — this Monday, Oct. 27! In an ever-popular DAFA tradition, participants rotate from one teacher’s station to another throughout the evening, spending about 25 minutes at each of four stations, making a special project and learning a new technique at each.Just bring a $5 supply fee for the evening full of fun. You’ll be given a ticket that indicates which teacher’s station you should settle into for the first round of “make and take.” (By the way, if you’re wearing your DAFA apron, you’ll win a prize from VP Patsi Davila.)Members who are leading the fun this year are Brenda McKinney, teaching Duct Tape Bracelets, Louise Schubert teaching Felted Pins, JoAnn Musso teaching Dior Roses, and Yvonne Perez teaching Halloween ATCs. Find details about the projects and the teachers on the DAFA website.
AND, NO JOKE … DAFA HAS BEEN SELECTED as one of four organizations in Dallas to participate in a citywide design competition based on a “Texas Pride” theme. And DAFA needs your help! We need 25 willing artists to attend a demo this Sunday, Oct. 26, 3 to 5 p.m., at Dallas Green Design. Participants go home with supplies for creating a small rug with SC Johnson’s VECCO, a product headed for Michaels shelves this season. No masterpieces required. Just plain fun trying out a new product!
Pictures of the individually created rugs will be posted online, and the organization with the most social media acclaim wins an additional $5,000! (And the individual winning rug earns its maker $2,500. Wow! Just for experimenting with a new product!) Please e-mail Deborah Boschert NOW (email@example.com) and be one of our 25 plarticipants. DAFA needs you!
