Cynthia Ross on Art Glass in Granbury Sept. 14


Don’t miss out on the next LGAA meeting demonstration on Monday, September 14th, 7pm at Shanley House Gallery. Cynthia Ross, a local glass artist, will be sharing her techniques for working with glass.

Cynthia plans to give a brief introduction of the current art glass movement in America and a discuss several popular techniques. She will share photos of studio equipment and explain their use. An assortment of work will be on display; both finished pieces and works in progress. Building a “flow bar” platter will be the main demo. Questions will be encouraged. About LGGA: Organized in May of 1972, the Lake Granbury Art Association‘s mission is to promote the appreciation, enjoyment and distribution of art. We are located at the historic Shanley House Center for the Arts in Granbury, Texas.
Demonstrations from local artists along with the Artist of the Month award are highlights of the monthly meetings held every second Monday of each month. Winners and runners-up of the Artist of the Month will have their winning work displayed in local banks.
Workshops are available in a wide variety of mediums including: Oils, Pastels, Acrylics, Watercolor, Drawing, Stained Glass, Sculpture, Wood Carving and more.
Models (clothed) are available once a week for life drawing sessions. Check the Calendar under Events for details.
We have 3 major shows a year, Spring (members only), Photography (open) and Fall (open juried), with cash awards for the winners. A youth exhibition is held in the spring in conjunction with the Langdon Center. Summer art classes and workshops for children are also sponsored by the LGAA
The LGAA Memorial Scholarship Fund gives families and friends a way to honor a loved one by donating money to give an artist, who cannot afford to participate in classes and workshops, the ability to do so and further their artistic experience.
