Young American Talent exhibition opens at El Centro


The H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery at El Centro College presents:

“Young American Talent”

February 16 – March 4, 2015

Reception and Award Ceremony: Wednesday March 4th 6-8 pm

The Arts and Sciences Division at El Centro College announces a juried exhibition of talented high school visual arts students from the North Texas area. The exhibition is sponsored in collaboration with the Visual Arts Guild of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.

This year’s show will feature 108 artworks in all media, chosen from 564 entries submitted. Awards will be given in the categories of Drawing, Painting and Watercolor, Mixed Media, Digital, Photography, Printmaking, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Jewelry at the closing reception.

Jurors for the event include Casey Stranahan, assistant director at Kirk Hopper Fine Art, Paige Prater, director of marketing and exhibits at the Frisco Discovery Center, and Lauren Gray, curator and director of The Safe Room, located inside the Texas Theater in Dallas Oak Cliff.

The exhibition will be on view beginning February 16th and continue through to the closing reception on March 4th.
