Houston fiber artists, Cynthia Hickok, Brenda J. Bunten-Schloesser and Linda Thompson will share their diverse textile artistry April 5-26, 2017, at Keller Town Hall, 1100 Bear Creek Parkway, Keller TX 76248. Their work has been shown in museums and galleries worldwide, and can be seen in many textile and decorator publications.
Cynthia creates her embroidered pieces from her sewing machine which she terms “an extension of her arm.” As each thread of a different color is placed next to each other, “the eyes will dance to the blended colors.”
Brenda J. Bunten-Schloesser, a full time studio artist, “is inspired by the world around us and the events that influence our lives. She likes to translate changes in our lives into her work and what she often refers to as ‘the dance’”
Linda Thompson, works with fabrics such as organza, muslin, linen and silk to create artistic garments that have been dyed, overdyed using the Shibori resist technique.
Join the Keller Public Arts Board and Meet the Artists, Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 3 to 5 pm or 7 to 9 pm.
