Visual Storytelling: Ed Kashi Lecture Feb. 4

Dallas Center for Photography is honored to host renowned photojournalist Ed Kashi for his lecture New Frontiers of Visual Storytelling: It’s All Personal. He’ll share work from personal projects and major commissions, talk about the importance of social media and Instagram, the photo essay and advocacy work. The talk will be richly illustrated with a combination of stills, short videos and smartphone work. He will also be available for a book signing after the lecture.

Ed Kashi is a photojournalist, filmmaker and educator dedicated to documenting the social and political issues that define our times. Ed has done 17 features for National Geographic since 1991 including landing 4 covers of the domestic edition and numerous covers of the foreign language editions. Some of the titles include “The Struggle of the Kurds”, “The War for Nigeria”, “Marseille’s Melting Pot” and “The Danube: Europe’s River of Harmony and Discord”. He also teaches workshops around the world for the magazine.
