2014 CVAD Annual Faculty & Staff Exhibition
The Annual Faculty and Staff Exhibition showccases artworks in all media by the accomplished artists working in the College of Visual Arts and Design, one of the most comprehensive university art programs in the nation. Reflecting the CVAD mission, the spirit of the region, and the dynamic growth of UNT and CVAD, this exhibtion’s ever-expanding inclusiveness affords continuing opportunities for students and others to see and learn from all that CVAD offers.

Saturdays in the UNT Galleries
November 8, 1-3 pm
Join us this Saturday for a fun-filled, family friendly afternoon. Acting coach and former theater teacher Nancy Hendrex Chumbley will guide families through improv activities that engage with works created by College of Visual Arts and Design Faculty and Staff. Chumbley, who has over 25 years teaching experience, currently works at Denton Community Theatre’s Theatre School where she recently directed “The Hobbit.” Volunteers from the student chapter of the National Art Education Association will be there to help guide families through art making activities related to the works in the CVAD Annual Faculty and Staff Exhibition.

With our second alumni showcase, presenting the works of renowned UNT alumni, achieving national and international recognition in their careers, we also celebrate the Dallas Museum of Art Awards to Artists. Xiaoze Xie (MFA ’96) and Rachel Cox (BFA ’06) won the Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough Award in 1996 and 2010, respectively. Elliott Johnson (BFA ’01) was awarded the Otis and Velma Dozier Travel Grant in 2009.
UNT ArtSpace Dallas is located at 1901 Main Street, in the lobby of the UNT System Building. Parking for an hourly fee is available in metered spaces on Main Street and in the Elm Street Garage. the garage provides access to the gallery via a third floor skywalk to the Universities Center Dallas. The UNT College of Visual Arts and Design’s UNT ArtSpace concept moves and grows with possibilities to use spaces in the communities that surround us, where our alumni, students, and faculty live and work and where we serve audiences with opportunities to engage with art and design.
