Santuario de Chimayó (Sanctuary of Chimayó)  just north of Santa Fe, New Mexico is both a magnificent and a holy spot.

A Catholic site of pilgrimage since the early nineteenth century, the church and its surroundings receive over 300,000 visitors a year and is a national historical landmark.  Legends dating back to precolonial times as well as many stories of miracles, healings, and even apparitions of Jesus himself are associated with Chimayó

Oklahoma photographer Robert Smartt has captured with the magic of the camera lense in powerful, matchless, and enduring images the bewitching beauty as well as the thick aura of a  cultural and spiritual history involving Chimayó  In addition, his other stunning landscapes of the canyon lands and lonely gorges of Northern New Mexico will take your breath away.

Previously a featured exhibt at Oklahoma’s prestigious Goddard Center, The Edge 166 Artspace is both proud and pleased to be able to offer “The Enchanted Landscape of Chimayó” for the month of September and part of October.
